Great fuel economy, great style, comfortable

Cons

None so far

My First Vw — The review for this car can be summarized in one short question. Got 50mpg? Car is comfortable and roomy. Handles great in rain or shine. Looks great! I just hoping the price of diesel fuel stays low. If all goes well I will stay in the TDI family for a long time.

If You Want Overall Versatility, The Golf Is The Best Choice — mid to high performance( Cam, underdrive pulley, suspension, brakes, tires, exhaust, CAI, GIAC chip, HID Lights) Build Quality- only repairs needed, was a timing belt, water pump, alternator) Appearance- I get compliments everywhere I go Cost of Ownership- about 25 mpg, and $40 oil change twice a year. Very Fun to Drive

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

My Vw Golf — Great car, runs like a top, does everything we need it to do, cheap to maintain, looks good, handles excellent, has all the toys -- heated seats rock! Getting a little tight for the kiddies inside but still a great car.

Solid Car — Great first car for someone. Very reliable, fun to drive. Speed demon it is not. Never had and issues other than basic maintenance. Mileage on the 2.0L is ok. Always have had a volkswagen,(9 in all) over all great car.

German Engineering Used To Mean Made In Germany — 90k in salt and snow, over mountainous passes and winding dirt roads. No rust. No repairs required until this year, put in a new starter. Otherwise all I've put into it is oil filters fluids brakes bulbs, and shocks and a new battery a few months back (OEM battery lasted 8 years in the Northeast!). However, I drive it like a truck. It's loaded with 100s of lbs of materials driven on mountainous back roads, many unpaved. so replacing oem shocks at 85k means they took a serious beating. I love rack and pinion. I want handling and absolute control around corners and tight spots. This car delivers. I've owned a GTI, diesel Passat, diesel wagon. But fossil fuels are a thing of the past, it's on to a hybrid.

Gigi — it is a great car with great appearance, very smooth on the road. the 2.0 8v engine gives u enough power to enjoy your self with the minimum cost. very fun to drive, i for instance have installed a sound system that blows your head off. :P

Fun And Powerfull In The Mountains — This car has been virtually maintaince free for 120k. It now has a weird rattle. If that gets fixed then I think I can get another 80k out of it. Only problem with car has been 17 year old son, who keeps running it into things. Now it has numerous little dents.

Good Car — I like that it is fuel efficient but I much rather have a GTI, it is very comfortable but if you are planning on putting anything as in cargo its not a good idea. Over all the car is a good car after all it is a VW
