The main changes for the XL-7 in 2004 involved a few extra horses under the hood, new 5 speed automatic transmission, and some exterior remodelling.  This midsize SUV now has a 2.7 L, 185 hp V6 engine.  All 8 trims have 4 doors and can seat 5 or 7, depending on which trim you choose.

Gas mileage generally comes out to 18 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway.  Suzuki's top SUV probably won't win any awards for towing capacity in its category with its 3000 lb. max.  Cargo capacity maxes out at around 75 cubic feet.

Overall, drivers say that the '04 XL-7 gives you good handling and seating capacity at a bargain price.  However, that low price also means you won't get much luxury or extra quality.  Passengers wouldn't mind having more interior room.  In any case, the XL-7 gives you some of the basics you'd expect from an SUV without emptying your wallet.
