Pros

seats 8, handles well, plenty of power and 25 mpg highway

Cons

they don't build them anymore

Great For Hauling Stuff And Shuttling Kids Back And Forth — It handles similar to the grand prix car and has plenty of power, seats 8 for those girl scout outings and 4-h stuff, and hauls lots of girl scout cookies! The body has stayed nice looking too, and not lots of extra maintenance cost either. This is our second one- we drove the first to 197000 before trading for this one.

Not Good! — I also have the 2004 montana and aside from having good handling in snow, I have been completely disappointed and would never buy another. First off we have had to replace wheel bearings on both front tires 5 times, we have had major electrical issues. The back power windows stopped working, the cause was corroded wires, windshield wiper motor problems, fan won't work on number 5, the car won't start on first turn of the key and often won't start at all. There has been problems with the stereo and air conditioning and also the back seats no longer recline and back sliding doors are now failing. We use this vehicle as a family van we have older children and we are no harder on a vehicle than any other family. This experience has convinced us never to buy another GM!

Pros

Cons

Looks - it was a van

Great Ride, But Hard To Look "cool" In A Family Van — I really like the ride on this vehicle - it rode like a big SUV - and very smooth on the highway. I drove it every week back and forth for a job [200 miles one way] - out on Monday, back on Thursday - and the thing just rode so smooth. Got decent gas mileage also. But it finally wore out - and the front end started making noise and it was going to cost a bundle to fix - so traded it in.

Pros

Fun and easy to operate.

Cons

The heater fan works good but the heater will not work in the winter on the higher settings, intermittent problem.

Montana — I love the dual doors but for safety sake I am glad I have only one powered door, on the passenger side. The kids will never open the door to traffic. I have had the van for almost 4 years and the cost has been very minimal so far. I would recommend the van to anyone looking for a reliable minivan.

Pros

Love the layout of the knobs and dials, love the rear heat and air feature, and love the ease of the seat configurations (mine has captain's chairs, which I highly recommend instead of a bench seat in the middle).  Although mine does not have power side doors, having two doors makes it oh so easy to get in and out of.  Love the radio feature that tells me what song is playing on the station.  Love the leg room, love the head room, love the storage room!

Cons

The only thing that I can think of that would make this car even more fabulous is some sort of running board step outside of the two sliding doors -- a little something to step on before your foot hits the ground.  Other than that, NO COMPLAINTS!!!

I Love This Van! — I recently purchased a 2004 Pontiac Montana van that was a leased car from a dealership in Kentucky. This van is terrific! I was looking for something bigger than the Mitsubishi Eclipse that I had been driving for 14 years, and this van fit the bill! Talk about a SMOOTH ride... it practically glides on the road. The seats are WAY comfortable, I love the layout of the knobs and dials and so far, it has gotten terrific gas mileage. I would recommend this van to anyone wanting a great value!

Pros

I like the 4-door access, the power windows/locks/mirrors, the extra storage space in the trunk, and that it is an 8 passenger vehicle.

Cons

the passenger-side seat belt in the middle row has issues...we just had a car seat there, so it didn't bother us.

Dependable Family Transportation At A Good Price — Dependable vehicle, this is an 8 passenger extended length van with extra storage space in the trunk. Features front and rear heat and A/C, AM/FM, Front captains chairs, tinted windows, power windows, mirrors and locks. We've had this vehicle for 4 years and haven't had any major issues with it.

My '04 Montanna - The Appliance. — Raises about as much passion in me as a refrigerator. The vehicle is best remembered as an appliance. Mediocre fuel economy, decent cargo room, average mechanicals. Fun? C'mon. It's a mini van. It did its job for four years and was reliable enough. This was the second and replaced an '03 that was less fondly remembered.
