The GS is also powered by the four cylinder engine, but buyers who opt for the automatic transmission get a manual shifter with this trim. Additional GS features include cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and keyless entry. The GS also gets several appearance upgrades, including a rear spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Eclipse GT coupe upgrades to a 3.0 liter V-6, which generates 200 horsepower and 205 pound-feet of torque. The transmission choices are a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic. Performance enhancements include four-wheel disc brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. The GT also get 17-inch tires.
The standard features list is similar to that of the GS, with convenience items like cruise control and keyless entry.
The top level GTS is also powered by the 3.0 liter V-6, but the GTS version provides ten additional horsepower, for a total output of 210. Torque remains at 205 pound-feet feet.
The GTS includes all of the performance enhancements that come standard on the GT, like a sport-tuned suspension and larger tires with polished alloy wheels. The GTS also adds leather upholstery, a six-way power driver seat, power sunroof, an Infinity audio system upgrade with a CD changer, steering-wheel radio controls and a compass.
The RS is one of two Eclipse coupes to house a 2.4 liter inline four, which provides 147 horsepower. The RS comes with a five-speed manual transmission and the optional four-speed automatic cannot be equipped with the manual shifter on this model.
Standard features include full power accessories, air conditioning, cup holders, alloy wheels, an anti-theft system and a six-speaker CD audio system.
