2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade Review
ProsReliable. Tough. Great turning radius. Looks good. Decent cargo room. ConsHorrible gas mileage for its small size. Defective window motors.

Very Reliable, Bad On Gas — Pretty solid, strong, reliable vehicle. Some components seem to not hold up over time though. Have put 75k miles on my 2004. Original window motors have high chance of failure, cost around $400 to replace each one. Had 3 replaced. Some driver's seat components have failed. Seatback adjustment lever broke off. Seatbelt lock broke, seatbelt fraying, and leather prematurely worn. Gets the same gas mileage as a much larger full size truck(16city/20hwy). Plenty of cargo space. Overall I have enjoyed my vehicle. Wish it got better gas mileage and more robust interior parts. Primary Use: Family transportation

My Mini Hemi — Had to replace the Waterpump at 55,000. It cost about $53 for the pump and my wife and I installed it our selfs. Performance is good. I like how it looks. Maintenance isn't to bad just that water pump. I love my Jeep. Definitely want to keep it for awhile. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros-4WD Cons-Can feel a little top heavy

My Little Baby — Absolutely amazing car. Bought it the day it came onto the lot. Extremely reliable and gets great gas mileage for an SUV. The 4WD on this car is unreal, it can push through snow as if it was a Hummer. Take it rock climbing, skiing, everywhere. Yet most commonly it is my commuter vehicle between two jobs and school. Overall amazing vehicle. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Fun, Sporty Car, Safe, Reliable, No Repairs Neccessary — fast acceleration, brakes very good, always in control driving this car, depends on how you drive of course, i felt safe and had fun to drive it. Need smaller car, no more family members to drive around. Last half year drove it only to work and shopping. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsRides great, no mechanical problems yet, easy to work on, parts aren't expensive, looks good, does well offroad for being stock. ConsNone, yet.

A+ — I've only owned it for 7 months, but so far I love it. I wish they made the Renegade model with the diesel engine. Currently I'm averaging about 20mpg, so it isn't too bad. I took off the roof rack because I think it looks better without it. Looking at the engine, everything is fairly easy to get to and oil changes are cake. From what I've read, lifts aren't too hard to install either.

ProsNice truck for the money it has a long life left and gets going well in the rouh weather. ConsAs with all four wheel drives the ride is a little stiffer than a car

Super Clean Little Suv Greta First Car — I liked this car it was fun to drive and could do much of what the larger SUV's could do. If given the option it performs better off road thanthe larger ones as well. You will never worry about getting to the station either. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Great Car — Loved the way it handled the road and the snow. It has a truck chassis and is a very safe car to drive. Great racing-green color. Put in a new radiator and kept tires aligned and balanced. Felt very safe in all kinds of weather. Was a second car and traded in other car for a newer SUV. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
