Pros

Awesome engine, superior 4WD system.

Cons

Oil leaks at rear axle seals at 50k miles, weak hood shocks.

A Great All-around Workhorse — This is my 7th Jeep, and 5th Grand Cherokee. The 4.0L I6 is great, even if it's not a powerhouse, it's darn near unbreakable. Fuel mileage is excellent for a vehicle of this type. I've gotten as high as 24, and average around 19 MPG. The 4WD system is unbeatable, and it will go thru terrain that would stop other "soccer mom" SUVs dead in their tracks. Overall, I'm very pleased.

Pros

Styling, build quality, on- and off-road performance in all weather, comfort for tall people.

Cons

Jeeps all have their own little quirks; this one is no different.  It's part of the Jeep thing.  The 4.0 motor is bulletproof, and perfectly fine for hauling just the Grand Cherokee around, but with a trailer, owners may find themselves wishing for the V8.

Great All-around Suv — With the Selec-Trac transfer case behind Jeep's tried-and-true 4.0 six-cylinder engine, this is a reliable and extremely capable vehicle. More roomy and comfortable than the previous generation, it's perfect for someone who needs to get to the back forty one weekend, then haul a family of four the next.

Would Absolutely Buy Another! — Safe, economical, comfortable vehicle. Excellent in all weather, spacious cargo area and convenient interior. Performs great, it's a no-nonsense vehicle great for family transportation to school, work, etc. as well as long road trips, state to state. Have loved this car!!

Pros

Cons

Maintenance isn't cheap, and Jeeps require quite a bit of it

Family Vehicle, A Must. — Most of the reviews I have read claim that this Jeep only gets 19 to 21 MPG but when I have checked my computer it said 32.8 MPG. I have yet to find a decent site with some information. Its a great family vehicle, and handling isnt bad at all. Reliability isn't a huge issue but isn't a issue that should be ignored at all, it requires (as all vehicles) care.

Its' A Great Used Vehicle, You Can Get A Decent One For Little Money. — Jeep GCs are tough vehicles. I bought mine in 2012 with 127K miles for $5900. I now have 210K miles on it and it still runs strong. It has annoying things like the brakes pulse from hot spots on the rotors, and in town mpg is terrible. All in all its a safe vehicle, sturdy and reliable. I will buy another when I hit 300K.

My 4th Jeep — This is my 4th Jeep and I have owed it the longest. Its always been reliable with no major mechanical break downs since I have owned it. I change the oil on a regular basis and have replaced all four tires and shocks as well as updating to cross drilled and slotted rotors.

A/C little weak for the rear passangers on a 45deg day

Great Car. — Like riding on a cushion, very plush suspension and handles the rough stuff just as well. The A/C is a little loud when up full speed to try and cool the passengers in the back seat. Especially in the Middle East when the temp hits 45+. The passengers say that it doesn't reach them or cool them enough with out it being up full speed, which sounds like a jumbo coming in to land. But that is the only fault I could say the car has, looks great handles better.

Handling Excellent, braking Par, Flashy Head Turner, — it drives like a sports car, stops like a NFL football player , is as comfortable as Al Bundy sitting on his easy chair, speakers are bose and stereo system is rocking, sits up in back a little so it give the apperance of a softly lifted mustang

Everyone Should Own A Jeep At Least Once — Its a jeep what more do you need? Off road, snow, it can't be stopped. Very reliable, mine has 114000 miles on it and had never needed engine work done to it. Gas will get pricey however. But a very good car in all!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Old Reliable — Very comfortable and easy to drive, pulls through all kinds of inclement weather, durable, can load it up with alot of people and things. Always starts up and is ready to tackle the days challenges on smooth or rough pavement.
