2004 Ford Mondeo Review
ProsVery much fun indeed, it is... hmmm ConsHeavy on fuel when driven hard and very very low to the ground

Lovely Car To Drive And Own, Racey Feel (hard, Low And Fast) Might Be Too Much For Some — This car looks good, feels good and performs very well. Very scarce in South Africa (600 of them brought in to my knowledge). Everyone seems to think the ST220 points to a 2.2 Liter motor, where in fact the car is fitted with the Jaguar X-Type 3 Liter 24valve Quadcam V6 motor pushing just over 220BHP where the ST220 stems from. Fitted with every imagineable gadget this car not only performs very well, but does so with the comfort of a family luxury sedan. Only drawbacks would be a clutch a little on the hard side because of the performace specs I would think (no fun to sit stuck in peek traffic), it's very low to the ground (could just only fit my fist under the front bumber) Would not want to sell this car ever. I think this baby might just remain in my garage for alot of years to come. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsEconomical, good to drive ConsSuffers from minor mechanical issues - e.g. Clutch release bearing.

Mondeo Ghia X 130ps Tdci — For a diesel, performance and economy are good. Build Quality for a new car was very poor, and it spent 2 months back at the dealership in the first 6 months. Also failures of equipment just outside of the warranty period. Styling is quite good and it is a very comfortable car for long distance drives. Good sound car now. |

Our 2004 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tddi — Performance is good from a 2.0 diesel engine. Build quality is very good but has needed a few repairs. Speedometer lights are now gone. Appearance is very good. It is a good looking car. It is cheap to maintain and goes 700 km on a tank of Diesel. The car is good to drive and comfortable. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsHandling, driving pleasure, build quality, space.... ConsPower in low rev's

Nice Driver's Car — Nice Performance for a heavy car, could be better in low rvs. (maybe after some chipping :-) ) Very good build quality, feels like you're in a living room that drives arond. The handling is also better then expected, a real driver's car! Would I recomend it to someone? Yes! If you like Ford, you certainly like this one. |

Recommend As Excellent Second Hand Buy. — Very underrated car. Excellent suspension and very quiet drive. Great Sony radio with 6 disc shuttle. More spascious than the 3 series and C class. Cheap to own and very good service plan. Very poor trade in and some trim items look and feel cheap. Primary Use: Family transportation |
