This Is The First New Chevrolet Truck I Have Bought. — This truck has a 5.3 motor and autotrans. Is works great for pulling my camper or my horse trailer. Driving to work I can get 18 mpg. A great truck for the money.

Reliable Truck For Getting Around — I have had to do minimal work on this truck. Had to replace the steering column lower bearing at 100k. I've had this truck for 5 years now and that has been the only problem. Regular maintenance on this truck has kept it running well and the body is in pretty good condition compared to others its age.

Built To Last — Never had an issue with this truck. It's been very reliable. This truck is very comfortable to drive. We use it for camping and trips to the coast. We will definitely buy another chevy pickup when it comes time to buy.

Any Chevy Owner Knows What I Mean — great truck ......only thing that needs work is the trans...which definitly needs work as long with chevys warrenty. and gas prices kick your ass especially seeing as how the truck gets probably 15 mpg stock....and as soon as you start changing things on it that 15 dwindles realllllll quick

Great Truck — I love this truck. Saved my life in a nasty wreck. But it was a very nice truck. Plenty of power and with a positrac rear end it all goes to the road.

Overall a great pickup

Cons

Gas, but its a pickup so who cares.

Awesome — Its a great pickup with decent power for the engine that it has. My silverado has a 5.3L and it keeps up with most stuff but there are always other pickups that will get it. Seats in it are nice and back seat space is respectable for only being extended cab.

Pros

Large, quiet interior. 110K miles.

Cons

Large; has an out-of-date (i.e, 2013 era) cassette player  And a CD player ... I gave ALL mine away last year ...    Had to replace instrument cluster ... on-line supplier = $200.

Tough — Goes anywhere ... been all OVER Baja ... and from Savannah to San Felipe -- and back -- many times ... 285 BFG All-Terrains last 50K miles ... strong runner ... stock parking brakes (rear) are 110% worthless junk ... pulled the (trashed) "rattling" shoes last year ... all they did was rattle on stutter bumps ... added Bilstein "5160" reservoir dampers plus a "Detroit Locker" in the rear ... tow well ... torsion "keys" ... two spares ... Garmin "Nuvi 770" ... Lowrance "7200C" (hard-wired via 8 ga fused wiring) ... Yaesu AND iCom FM "race" radios (hard-wired via 8 ga fused wiring) ... under-seat rear storage ... bed tool box ... REAL "Hi-Lift" ranch jack ... straight-run intake pipe ... MagnaFlo side exhaust ... steel rear bumper ... four (4) LightForce running lights wired thru relays ...

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Such A Fun Truck!! — This truck had the 4.8L, it was fast as hell in a reg cab short bed. It was pretty, and fast, but it rode like holy hell. The gas mileage wasn't terrible.

Do Not Buy In Fact Avoid All Gm Vehicles — It has terrible wheel hop on turns bouncy suspension and trim pieces never seem to want where they are supposed to. The intake manifold being cheaply made of plastic had a hole in it but it was by no means cheap to replace.
