Pros

Reliable, reliable, reliable. As with any truck, if you take care of it, it takes care of you. In this case, I've been using this as my daily commuter and have never had any issues.

Gas mileage is great for a truck. I average about 20mpg between city and highway driving.

Suspension and steering is phenomenal. The turning radius is great, and it's very nimble in turns.

Cons

If anything, it can get too comfortable on long trips.

One Truck That Does It All. — I bought this truck because I wanted a daily commuter that would turn into a weekend getaway. I don't tow, or carry loads other than my luggage, so I can't comment on the technical aspects most people would buy a truck for. Instead, I can say that I'm accustomed to Mercedes sedans, so transitioning to a big truck was a bit unnerving at first, but the Avalanche made it easy. It handles so well, you forget it's a big truck. Everything about the truck is luxury, from the driving computer, to the ample seating and headroom, to the suspension and steering. I would highly recommend an Avalanche to anyone who thinks they need an SUV, but really want a Truck. This is it.

Great Runing And Driving Truck — I love the look of this truck it has always rand and drove great for me with no issues even with 177k miles on it, I really like the versatility of the crew cab that would fold down to create a full bed when hauling the only disadvantage was the short bed when having passengers

Pros

Cargo capacity is great! Very stylish, and extremely comfortable. I love the leather and all the bells and whistles. Coolest little thing is the power mirror controls.

Cons

Hard to maneuver. HARD TO PARK!  Black plastic fades fast. Poor gas mileage. Hard to get in an out of.

A Rolling Sofa! — Great truck. Fits my personality to a "T"! I love the leather interior and the power mirror controls. Very comfortable, and it's a good things, because I may have to live in it after having to pay the fuel and maintenance costs! Phew!

Pros

Great looks, versitile vehicle, great for using as a truck when you need it, or a family vacation hauler. Pulls my car trailer with ease. 5300 is a great engine/

Cons

Rear cargo covers are only water resistant, not water tight. Plastic parts should have been painted like the Escallade. Fuel penalty for such a big vehicle, but it's not too bad.

Great Vehicle For Long Family Trips, Great Wrok & Family Vehicle In One. — The Avalanche fits the bill very well. A great road trip vehicle and a good work truck when needed. Very comfortable. Not quite as long as an extended cab PU, and much shorter than a four door PU, but has more useable box space with the midgate down. I have driven this vehicle to Florida 3 X and never get tired driving it, very comfortable.

Pros

You are a monster of the road, only thing that can take you down is a bus or bigger truck.

Cons

Guzzels gas like crazzzy

Good Truck, Not The Most Ideal "first Car" Considering How Much Gas It Eats Up But All In All Great — It is a nice truck, but there are many things I find were lacking in the quality and performance areas. The engine on doubt is weak, fun to drive but still weak. Brakes, tend to need a little extra push out on the drivers part to get the truck into a full stop. The liftoff and 0 to 40 acceleration is very poor when considering the amount of gas you guzzle by pushing the peddle past 45 degrees. Interior and exterior very customizable, can truly make it unique in every way which no doubt is awesome.

Love My Avalanche — A solid Chevy truck with unique twists. Store things in the "saddlebags," convert the midgate for more cargo room, bench seat allows me to take the whole family out for fun. Great support websites to find answers to almost any problem, issue, or upgrade.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

2004 Southern Comfort Edition Chevy Avalanche — I love this truck, very dependable and looks good!! This has been a very good vehicle and it has low mileage. This truck has had only one original owner and has been very well taken care of. Must see to appreciate.
