ProsFits everything, nice & easy to drive for a big car ConsWinter fuel consumption is about 10mpg less than in the summer.

Great! — Very functional, fits everything in, the dog even gets her own space! The boot is bigger than the X5. I got the one with Leather, Sat Nav, CD changer etc, all great. Only downside so far is that the paint has started peeling off the steering wheel. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsSUV storage, durability, yet small enough to fit in compact parking spaces ConsBMWs are pricy to fix. But that is BMW...

Great Vehicle For The Price! — The driving performance is great, it has quick pick-up and sharp turns. Had installed new breaks in 2009, new battery November 2010, and there is an extended warranty on this car till 3/2011 with Zurich. BMW is known for expensive repair costs. I have done regular maintance at Seattle BMW and German Auto Specialist (Factoria). The car has been garaged during my ownership and the body and interior is in good shape! Since I live and work within two blocks, I drive this vehicle 2-5 times a month for short distances, so the mileage is VERY LOW. This is an excellent car, had great TLC!!

Bmw X3 — unlike it's big brother the X5, the x3 is smaller, lighter and more appropriate not just for city driving but it can also take on cross country trips.. very spacious interior for maximum comfort... again, being a Beamer, it has a downside... high maintenance... Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Best Suv But You Get What You Pay For — MPG is great and handling is great a little bit expensive new. 6 speed is fun. good in snow. Has not broke down or have not spent lots on maintenance. German quality at its best! BMW rocks oh yeah. Yeah! Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsGreat Performance, not terrible gas mileage, low ownership costs ConsExpensive, a little uncomfortable

Power, Power, Power... — Extremely Powerful for a 2.5 liter engine. A little rough around the edges, however its completely worth it. I've never experienced a moment where i thought the car was underpowered. The car is extremely fun to drive. On a comfort level, its stiff and a little uncomfortable, but perfect if your looking for performance

Great Vehicle For The Family. — I bought this car with 26k on it and fell in love with it. I love the 6-speed manual. The clutch is smooth as butter. The all wheel drive system is so smooth that you forget its there until suddenly you need it and you have traction while everyone else is spinning. I wish the UK diesel version was here. 50 miles per gallon instead of 17. The speakers and sound system are good for a factory system and there is an optional BMW part to hook up a earphone jack to the back of the head unit for your MP3 player/phone. (If you don't have the nav unit) There is one drawback. If you have the original springs/shocks/struts that BMW made for it and not the "sports pack" or an upgraded after-market set, then you will experience one of the worst stock systems in BMW history. My wife is 100% not a car person and she complained about how it felt going over bumps. I upgraded it with a Bilstein Yellow Shock/Strut set and Eibach Pro Springs. This firmed it up in a hurry and now it feels marvelous. Just make sure you check on them if you buy one as the original set was so bad that BMW dealers started refusing to accept them from the factory without the upgraded kit being pre-installed by BMW. This only affects the 04 model year. It's a good idea to look at them anyway on a used car. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosit isn't as big as a bmw x5 or audi Q7 Consfuel costs too much

Bmw X3 — it is a very beautiful car is good that it isn't as big as a bmw x5, but however it isn't as big to be a good family car, i think that the perfect size it's of the new bmw x3, bigger than an old x3 and smaller than an x5. The power is ok, because is less than an x5 that is too much powerful. i think that the new bmmw x3 is a very good car, and the older not as good as i want. however all bmw suv line is not good to do off road.

Bmw Got This One Right Straight Out Of The Box! — The BMW brand was in my mind over-rated until we bought this puppy. I also had a 2000 Mercedes ML 320 - which the BMW X3 was built to compete against. The BMW was as powerful and much smoother on the road. My ML was sturdy and dependable, but not as nicely appointed. Both are great highway cars, but my next car will be a BMW! Primary Use: Family transportation
