Pros

Fabulously comfortable, well-appointed, spacious interior, numerous convenience features, very safe, good looking car.  Handling is surprisingly nimble for such a big car, especially with after market sport wheels and tires.  Power is very good and transmission is almost electric motor-like in its smoothness.  Everything is of high quality and looks it.  Highway mileage is a solid 25-26 mpg--extraordinary for such a large car.  The ProLogic surround sound system is awesome.

Cons

The only real complaint I have with this car is that repairs--while rare--are very expensive.  Parking can be a bit of a challenge in the city because of its size.  Also, the car is so smooth, quiet and powerful that it is very easy to find yourself doing 90+ mph and not realize it.  I guess that is not really a complaint!

Great Family Sedan--if You Can Afford It! — This is a fabulous all-around family sedan with practically every luxury option imaginable. A big secret to many people is that these 7 Series BMW's are such a bargain once they get a couple of years old. They do not hold their value like the smaller BMW's, especially the 3 Series cars. That means there are some serious bargains to be had if you are OK with buying a used car. Most of the people who buy these cars new tend to take good care of them and don't abuse them when they drive. The trunk is enormous and the back seat in the Li model is large enough to have a party. It really feels like a limo. I have several other cars so do not drive this one all the time. When i do I am always struck by what a great car it is.

Pros

Love this car, it's beautifully built, an absolute hoot to drive, understated, elegant & efficient...an absolute bargain and an extremely underrated car....which suits me fine as I'm happy to slide under the radar while all the others don't know what they missing out on.

Cons

Nothing

A Great Car! — Performance is terrific, this car has grunt and sounds incredible when accelerating hard, nice sound with V8 rumble. The main thing about this car is that although a large relatively heavy car it doesn't feel like that to drive at all. It handles incredibly well and if fact I have to keep reminding myself that it's not a hot hatch. The combination of dynamic drive and 20 inch wheels give it unbelievable cornering ability for a car this size. The dynamic drive means virtually no body roll! Brakes are awesome as well. The car is quiet and beautifully damped so that even with the large wheels it still rides incredibly well. 12.4L per 100 average fuel economy is nothing to complain about either....the trade off for not going for a 5.0 litre V8 as so many others do! Interior is once again beautifully finished and a great place to spend time. The leather seats are club leather and trimmed to perfection. I am shocked that the Motoring journalists complained about IDrive as it is so simple system to use and works well, I have no complaints with it - i would hate to see these guys on their computers if they have trouble with Idrive! Exterior looks very classy and works well with the 20 inch wheels. My wife thinks it looks nice as well...it has some attitude but understated and classy too! Ownership is an absolute pleasure, service is on required approximately every two years or (approx 20,000 kms) or according to the BMW computer which really reduces the time spent in service. All in all a great car, shame some other motorists are so opinionated as they really are missing out LOL

Price, Size (matter of taste). The standard leather interior is great, but compared to Audi 8 the desing is a little less appearing.

If You Can Afford Him... The Best Car For Travelling Ever. — I had this full equipped 750 longversion... my backpassengers had always fun like hell and the car is amazing. Sure - best of the best, we Germans build that year! But even this huge sedan had an incredible handling. I raced it ones through the rushhour against a small powerful roadster...and was impressed how easy to move this 2tons. But the real advatage is to travel in it...you don't need a living-room anylonger and you can drive for hours at highest speed. And BMW will always have the better handling than the S-class or a front or 4wd Audi 8 !

Very Smooth ride, yet still able to drive aggressively. It is both: Luxury & Sports Car all in one. Also has very convenient features. Can function every thing right from the driver seat, including the rear window shades.

Cons

Maintenance Costs.

Luxury & Sport All In One! — (This is not my car, however, I do get the privilege to drive it from time to time. It is my father's.) All I have to say about this car, is that it is the best car I have ever driven. It amazes me how smooth the ride quietly is, but some how the suspensions are stiff enough to prevent body roll. The BMW 7-Series is basically my old Buick Park Avenue and my Nissan Altima 3.5SE, put together which is the kind of car I want. Abundant interior space, with comfortable reclining Rear Seats. What is there not to like about this car, except for the price? This vehicle is a must have!

The Ultimate Driving Machine — this is has good power and a comfy ride. The 4.4 liter motor makes this car fly. I love the stability on this car. The 19" wheels makes this car hug corners like a train on tracks. enough said. peace

One Of The Best Cars I've Ever Owned. — Most people don't get to drive a BMW 745i, but I owned one a couple of years back. This car was by far the best car I've ever owned. It turned heads everywhere I went and the ladies absolutely loved it. It was all black and had 20" black painted wheels. The interior had slate gray leather with some suede accents.

Solid Ride-handles Like A Sports Car In A Large Sedan Body — I have owned many high end sports vehicles, at the present time I believe I have purchased the best money can buy in our 745LI. Comfort, style and drive are all to be commended as the top of comparable auto's sold. The price is still a bit pricey, but no question can be in doubt regarding all the features we were looking for in a car. Overall, the BMW is an amazing car well put together. It has everything you need, the exterior is amazing, the interior is luxurious, and the engine produces more power than you would think. This car is simply the dominant vehicle when compared to it's competitors. I would definitely recommend this magnificent car if your in the market for a 7 series.

True Beauty That Gets Looks When Shes Rolling — I like the look of the car, clean lines, not much chrome real black on black car. Although pretty large it is quick enough to compete with much smaller vehicles and the handling is PURE BMW. When you need a large sedan that has get up and go this is an all time favorite!

2004 Bmw 745li — This car is very addictive to drive. It does not drive like the large sedan that it is; instead it feels like I am driving a small sports car with great handling, acceleration, braking, performance, and very smooth ride, but yet still stiff enough to cut those tight corners and pass which makes the car really fun. 0-60 in only 4.5 seconds which is very fast for a tall, large, heavy sedan. All in all; this car is worth EVERY penny of $85,000 that it is worth brand new.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
