Volvo Xc... Luxurious City Cruiser; Hardly A Xcountry Safari Wagon — I LOVE the finely appointed interior/exterior luxuries... It's go power everything, leather, and single handedly the MOST COMFORTABLE seats ever and of course they're heated too!This baby's got TONS of space; enough room for two medium dogs, a kid, to adults and five suitcases.... and TURBO! Yea, we're kinda spoiled! However, all this city-living fancy-pants luxury has its downsides too. The sub-par AWD system is really not even close to what it's cracked up to be; my subaru wagon blows it away. My guess i the hawty-tawty people that raved about this AWD system never lived in the snow-belt of Northeast Ohio! "Supposedly" people have taken this car through "18 inches of snow, with no problems." Now I took this to be quite an exageration really, given the ground clearance for this car is only about 11-12 inches; but based on these reviews, i attempted to trek through about 12 inches of snow...... only to find myself stuck within all of maybe 10 seconds. The electronic initiated shifting system absolutely under no circumstances is quick enough to allow the driver to "rock" back and forth out of a situation.... So I did what any good car owner would do: I walked home, grabbed by tow rope and my SUBARU Wagon and dragged this luxurious and anything but rugged sub-par AWD car out of the field :) You should have seen the look and the triple-take of some guy in his big gas guzzling 4x4 truck as he drove by witnessing the event... PRICELESS! WORD OF ADVICE: If you are only XC at heart, not in true driving, this car is great. If you're looking for rugged performance, great AWD, and something you'd feel safe taking a safari in.... get a Subaru Outback! Primary Use: Family transportation

Awsome Car!! — We bought this car in 2006. We've had it for about 5 months although its a 4 year old car, its great!! The AWD is awsome in the winter, you see all these honda accords and little cars with FWD and they are spinning to gain traction and there we go not even a hesitation! The seats are sooo conferatable and it rides sooo nicely, although i dont get why it has a semi standard transmission,it seems very useless!! Owner for 0 years, 5 months Miles Driven per Year:25,000 | ||

Like A Tank — Did you know that Volvo paints their car 5 times compared to other auto manufacturer which is only 2 times. Body is so durable. Engine will run almost forever. Transmission just needs close attention like replacing fluid every 30K or 60K miles. Its a little heavy but other than that I have no complains about this car. When I was growing up I enjoyed the third row seats and now I have kids they get to experience the joy of just sitting backwards. I have taken it on every terrain and I must say that it would not back down especially in the snow. The height is perfect for that off road trekking. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

Prosgood car, great sound quality, safe. Conshad some trouble starting in extremely cold weather but was fine once it warmed up a bit.

ProsHandles well; reliable; every "toy" you could ask for! ConsThe humming noise that came from the muffler almost drives me to crash into the ditch to get the noise out of my head! The audio system sucks beyond belief; when you have to replace bulbs, fuses, etc. you can get pretty frustrated with how difficult it is; when I want to change my own oil, the system makes this feat almost impossible (for a woman, anyway!).

I Love This Car--it Is My Dream Car And Exceeds My Expectations! — I purchased this car with 36,000 miles on it--I have wanted a Volvo since I was a child; my opportunity came when I turned the horrible "40" and decided this my my mid-age crisis! I love this car--it handles well, I have had NO issues for the past year I have owned the car, and I feel very safe with my children on board--the way it handles on the snow-covered roads is amazing, and I cannot get over the engineering that goes into this car! ConsIt only gets 24 MPG on the highway, which for a 4000+ LB car with AWD isn't so bad.
