Pros

all-around car =)

Cons

not enough interior space for long-leg driver

My Toy I - Vw Jetta 1.8t — performance is cool; acceleration is solid especially the one I own is manual. there's always some noticeable mechanic noise from time to time; although it didn't affect the performance, it is simply annoying and any car lovers would love to hear crystal clear engine sound, is it? ~~~~ quite fuel economic compared to my other car, lol; so not too much complaint on that one =) build quality is solid after all; it's been 6 years since I purchased it; been through tough winters in Ontario, Canada; Montreal, Quebec; break killer - LA area and finally now I live in Mountain view - quite peaceful car driving friendly area~~ it is absolutely fun to shift gears on the jetta 1.8T, quite amazed to see its acceleration on the road compared to other more prestige cars.

Pros

It's a station wagon

Cons

It's a station wagon

It's A Station Wagon — Well, with the new shocks, it's probably one of the better handling station wagons out there, and it's no slouch with VW's ubiquitous 1.8T engine (which has become a 2.0T in recent years). It's built like a German car, which means that there aren't any flimsy panels, and the doors close with a solid "thunk." The rubber pipes and hoses in the engine bay weren't made of the best materials, so expect to replace them once in a while. It's not a bad looking station wagon, especially if you have the 17 inch factory rims, but it's not as awesome looking as those giant American land yacht wagons they used to make with wood siding. It has good fuel economy, but expect to spend a bit on maintenance. 2003 was around the low point of VW's product quality, though I hear it's been steadily improving since. It's fun to drive, because it's a station wagon that can handle and go fast. It's got tons of low end torque, which means that for a moment, I can pull away faster than most other cars out there. When you're driving around in traffic, that's all you need.

Cons

Ghost — 2.8L, 24 valve, VR6 w/ AEM CAI, Greddy G2 cat-back exhaust Autotech lightweight flywheel, Autotech short-shifter carbon fiber Boser hood w/ custom body kit 18" Drifz wheels This has got to be the best performing 6 cylinder I have ever driven. The mods just made it that much better. It just needs to be chipped to get the most performance out of my mods.

Pros

fun, fast, safe, awesome performance

Cons

none

If You Want It Go Get It — This car is so much fun to drive. Its powerful, fast, smooth, and corners beautifully. the gas mileage is amazing too, i drive like a maniac and I'm getting 28 mpg. It does run on premium but it only costs $39 to fill it up.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

its nice and somewhat fast

Cons

repairs without warranty

Nice Car But This Year Model Has Some Problems. — a few mods soon to be a bit more, somewhat fast for a relatively stock 4 banger. really nice interior and features. i've had to change the water pump and the thermostat. as for maintenance i bought a warranty so if anything goes wrong it only costs 50 buck to repair. mpg 21 city 31 highway. its fun to drive it has great acceleration and good handling. plans for the future ecs underdrive light weight pulleys, rsd stress and strut bars (upper and lower) h&r sport springs , ruff racing r 345 18", eurosport exhaust system.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Its awesome all around

Cons

Plastic under-bumpers

25

Dope! — My Vw Jetta is absolutely sick no questions. The handling is great, the power in that 1.8 litre Turbo is surprising, and the transmission is very smooth. The Jetta is one of the sleekest looking cars out there, when its kept in good shape. The black plastic bumpers are my only complaint as they folded like paper when i scraped a curb. idk what else to say. drive one and decide for yourself.

Pros

quality built and good on gas

Cons

needs more rear seat room

Quality — all around awesome vehicle but next time I would buy the wagon. The performance is top notch. Expensive for the oil changes but worth it in the long run. I have never owned a better built car than this one.
