Pros

Goodish looking, amongst the quicker of the ricers, mostly functional sedan.

Cons

Avoidable pre-cat and butterfly valve screw issues teamed with Nissans lack of customer support may not appeal to some.

I Don't Completely Mind Having Owned One. — Econobox with a torquey little 4 banger. Only the 02 and 03 had the good looking front end. 02 only had ugly red interior. The Sentra got decent gas mileage, was safe and comfortable, and was the fastest 4 cylinder under $20,000 in 2003. One in good shape can be had today for $7,000 or less. After a couple of modifications, the car is reliable until 70k mi, when the 3rd gear synchronizers start to go out. B+

Great Buy — Great car for the money. Good power, but add a header before you have pre cat failure. Easy to fix. Great looks...In fact I like it's looks better than the newer models. Very fun to drive. I love the LSD!

Pros

Very fun car to drive, handles well

Cons

Highly unreliable, be ready to pay immense repair bills

25

Only If You Are Desperate For A Fun 6 Speed... — Terrible build quality. Needs repairs often. Absolute blast to drive through corners, having an LSD and a lightweight body allows it to keep up with much faster cars in the twisties. Gear ratio is short, transmission is terrible. Engine is very torquey for a 4 cylinder Japanese car. Junky interior, looks alright from the outside.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Great gas mileage, fast, lots of aftermarket upgrades.

Cons

Aftermarket parts are very expensive, lots of speeding tickets...

Great Car! — I love my Nissan. Great quality and holds up very well. She is very fast! I love chirping through gears in the six speed. It wasn't too bad to buy. Six year loan but hey it's mine now! It's super fun and it's my baby! Couldn't have asked for better.

Pros

Handling, power, steering response, nice torque, limited slip differential

Cons

build quality, light output, engine could use an ugrade.

25

Yeehaa — I like the car overall but it can use a lot of things. Projectors would make it look better. Build quality could be better. Performace has been ugraded in the later models but in this year it could definately be better. Its a fun car but a lot could be done to make it nicer. Although the price tag would be higher also. Great car for a teen to have.

Pros

Performance/Price ratio

Cons

I've had it for a while now. Would like to buy something else soon.

2003 Nissan Sentra Se-r Spec V — Performance is great for a car of this category and price. With a few mods it's probably at 200hp at the engine (175hp stock). Suspension is so-so due to the live axle at the back. Fuel mileage is not terrible. Appearance is ok. I like the wheels and the front bumper. Bottom line, if you want a "cheap" fast car, I think it's the way to go.

Pros

It was really good to me, and it kept me safe when I was t-boned.

Cons

Nothing sucks about this car.

The First Sentra I Ever Drove — My first car looked like this, except it had a bra on it. It had really nice wheels, and I liked the interior. It had good pickup speed, and I felt safe driving around in it.
