2003 Mercury Marauder 4 Dr STD Sedan Review
ProsLooks, modifyability, comfort ConsHeavy, a bit flaky on the electricals

My Marauder — Overall a great balance of luxury and performance - weighing in at @4500 lbs it could have used more power but being a great platform for modification could be beefed up alot. Love the look myself, somewhat understated but with a bit of bling, it has turned many heads in its time. Unfortunately some ghosts in the electrical system (headlights, wipers) have cropped up, though to be fair to an American car it didn't have a single problem 'til +50000 miles. I love my Marauder! |

ProsWell documented production car, having shared a platform that has been around for decades, the car has no lack of detailed information and after market suppliers, tight knit forum gives easy access to help for mechanical problems ConsLimited Run, only 11, 052 made over 2 years; its heavy 4 door sedan, weighing in at 4400 lbs; in stock form the car is not as impressive as designed

New American Muscle — Introduced in 2003, the performance version of the familiar Ford Panther Platform which includes the Crown Victoria, Grand Marque, and Towncar, this car features a 4.6 DOHC Ford Modular Engine, shared with the Ford Mach 1 Mustang of the same year boasting 302 hp stock; along with beefed up suspension, including rear air ride to maintain an aggressive stance; floor shifting 4 speed automatic trans, among many things. Along with interior dress up like nudo leather seats with embossed gods head, gauge pack above shifter, new custom black on white display, carbon fiber trim, to note a few. A Classic Modern American Muscle Car. — Badass American Muscle car! It may not be a sophistcated as more modern cars, but it sounds great and runs like hell... I can run it on a dragstrip and drive it home full of people and luggage and still get 25 MPG! Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsBig, fast, and comfortable ConsIt should hae been supercharged from the factory.

Big, Fast, And Comfortable — It is a fast, comfortabke car. Loads of room and good performance. A few dollars and an hour or so can tweak the shifting and give you a few more HP. I recommend Trilogy and Alternative Automotive for a serious HP injection. Primary Use: Family transportation |

ProsA very nice luxury sedan with the power of Ford's best motor. The interior space cannot be beat when coupled with the performance. ConsGas mileage and grade of fuel. The only fuel you can use is premium 93 octane. The mileage you can expect is 18/24 (city/highway).

Great Blend Of Performance And Luxury — This car has a very spacious interior with black leather and metallic trim. Very reliable car that has the power to throw you into the seat with its acceleration. It is very clean cut sedan with all the extras that you would expect from a luxury sedan blended with a sports car and the trunk is huge. |

Great Performance Sedan With Plenty Of Pep And Agility. Fun To Drive — I have owned this car since it was brand new. Have rolled the odometer to 60,000. No problems. It is a daily driver. My wife rolls back and forth from work. The car has a great ride, filled with plenty of creature comforts. Plenty of room, Has all the gauges instead of the idiot lights. Will merge into interstate traffic with plenty of pep. Added spot mirrors to enhance the vision. Owner for 5 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:12,000 |

ProsStunning looks. It's got classic lines. ConsPoor quality.

03 Marauder — The worst car I have ever owned. It's performance was adequate... probably should be a lot hotter for a special edition car. It's quality was awful. Bad paint, bad shocks, bad interior trim, bad brakes, bad fog lights... and a few other things that were probably because it was a limited edition car thrown together with parts-bin parts. (Rather than a car that was tested, tweaked, and tested again) I consider buying the Marauder a mistake. Other than that... the car looked awesome. |
