Pros

Absolutely beautiful car!! Always get compliments and it's a 11 year old car!  They also are not a dime a dozen so you don't see yourself coming and going all day long. It's surprisingly comfortable even on long trips.  The trunk is HUGE for a GT car.  The drive train starting with the 2002 model is very reliable.  The stiff depreciation on Jags makes the price of admission very reasonable.  Having said that, it is still a very costly vehicle to operate.

Cons

Cost of maintenance on this vehicle can be staggering!!! There is no way you should purchase one without having some type of Extended Warranty!  While the basic engine and drivetrain are reliable all sorts of other things like the convertible top... (1700.00 to just replace hydraulic lines) will bankrupt you in short order.  Cheap to buy, but expensive to own!!  My warranty has paid out 4500.00 in the past six months. Make certain you do a pre-purchase inspection and have repair records when considering buying one.

Fun Car To Drive On Fast Winding Roads Or Just Styling Around Town. — IF you're willing to accept the relatively high cost of "owning" this rolling piece of art you will love driving this car! Sufficiently powerful engine and handling make this an excellent choice for a GT vehicle! JUST DON'T FORGET TO PURCHASE A COMPREHENSIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY!! UPDATE: I finally had enough of the constant mechanical problems with this vehicle. The final straw was the failure of the hydraulic lines on the convertible top. ( Cost to repair is over $3000.00 to replace 2 lines) I left it in the Service Department, walked out to the Sales Department and purchased a 2008 Jaguar XKR Supercharged convertible with 29,000 miles and a 50,000 mile 4 year bumper to bumper warranty. After 6 months of ownership I have experienced ZERO PROBLEMS, and it is a dramatically better vehicle! I can no longer recommend purchase of the previous generation XK8. It is a beautiful car and that about sums it up. You will find the constant problems extremely annoying in the long run. You've been warned!!!!!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Want Three Of Them. — This car exceeded my expectations. It has the power of an American muscle car, but the handling and finesse of a European roadster. The black and charcoal styling of this particular car evokes the aura of Jaguars of the past.

Love My Jaguar — My car is gorgeous- the face is aggressive and body is muscular and the curves sexy...it is beautiful from all angles and always turn heads as I drive by. I love this model year far more than the new model - very classic looks. Acceleration is smooth but as it is not the supercharged version, not as powerful. Braking and handling are excellent, especially on its 19 inch alloy wheels. It hasn't needed much repairs since I got (one year ago) but service at the dealer repair place is expensive (over 100 bucks per hour). Gas mileage is average, not overly high for a sports car but the use of premium gas does add to one's gas bill. In the summer, driving with the top down is a lot of fun!

Sports Car — My perspective.. feels alittle heavy, not great with mileage. could have a better cornering hold. idk... not good at all for winter.
