Highly Recommended And Much Under-rated. — I love this car, it does everything. Brilliant secure handling thanks to the 4WD, especially on icy/snowy/greasy/wet roads. Lusty 240BHP V6 and the manual gearbox is a pleasure to use. Extremely comfortable and great fun to drive. It's not really a great beauty to look at and it has been in the garage a few times, but all in all it's an excellent car and much under-rated.

This Car Has Sold Me On Jaguars For Life — Great overall car fast, reliable, efficient and fun to drive! We bought this car from New York and drove it over one thousand miles back to Saint Louis I have never had any major problems with this or my other Jag. This is my second X-type and when I sell it this summer I will be looking at either 2008 models or an XF.

Pros

Looks nice and very smooth ride

Cons

Not a cost effective car to drive.

My Jag — Smooth drive, engine purrs, really makes the commute to work a joy. Looks cool and has gorgeous leather interior. Good acceleration but can be really fuel hungry. Not too good for road tax costs either due to high emmissions as it's a petrol engine. Would upgrade for a diesel though as really like the model.

Great Car! — This car was a hand-me-down from my mother. It handles great in the snow and has a good sound when accelerating. It only takes premium gas, but gets 30+ mpg highway. Repairs have been minimal and the customer service is excellent. They've been so happy with Jag that my parents are considering the new Jaguar XF to replace it.

Pros

The AWD, the handling, and of course...the style.  Jags have style.

Cons

It could use a little more power, but it is the X type, not a supercharged R!

European Luxury And Style At Japanese Economy Car Prices. — The more I drive this car, the more I love it. It has a feel unlike any other car, and I've owned many makes. The AWD is what makes this little Jag shine. Corners flat, no body roll, very silky smooth ride, and you will catch yourself looking down at the speedo and saying "whoops...90" and won't feel like it. It is my daily driver and I am pleased with it. Do the maintenance. But that goes without saying for ANY car.

Do Not Break The Bank To Have A Great Looking Car — I always wanted a Jag - this is my second one and looking to get my 3rd one. No real troubles over the last 5 years. Last year at around 110K miles - I had to replaced all 4 wheel bearings - which is normal for AWD car. The rest was normal; brakes, oil, cooling......

Pros

Looks are why you own this car....

Cons

The worst suspension on the road. Shocks had to be replaced after 6 montths and it has never been right. Low profile tires and very weak mags resulted in 6 broken wheels

Fine Looks, But Don't Ever Buy It For The Performance Or Smooth Ride Because You Will Be Dissapointe — I am about to hit 170,000km and, touch wood, no major issues, except the lousy suspension design...Manual transmission helps the 2.5 liter engine get into motion...and valet parking attendants voted it their favorite car to park when I leave it at the airport.

A British Cat — Great performance with a V6 that suits the car perfectly. 4 Weel Drive makes it a great car on any surface, tarmac, gravel, snow or ice. 231 BHP is enough to be first on red lights. Besides that, my car is absolutly maximum equipped.

Pros

AWD for winter
Controls on the steering wheel for sound system and cruise control
Look of the car: Sports pack has no chrome so it looks great

Cons

Fuel consumption: 3L V6 motor consumes a lot
Expensive to service and maintain because of CDN$ VS British Pound

Great Black Panther — Fully equipped, AWD, nice to drive in Winter and Summer

I Expected Better, But Am Overall Satisfied. — I purchased this car with the expectation of owning a sporty high end car. The car feels a bit sluggish. Maybe I should have paid a bit more for the 3.0. It doesn't really handle all that well for a small car. The temperature sensor died out right after my warranty expired, the A/C isn't powerful enough and now the check transmission light is coming on intermittently.
