Highly Recommended And Much Under-rated. — I love this car, it does everything. Brilliant secure handling thanks to the 4WD, especially on icy/snowy/greasy/wet roads. Lusty 240BHP V6 and the manual gearbox is a pleasure to use. Extremely comfortable and great fun to drive. It's not really a great beauty to look at and it has been in the garage a few times, but all in all it's an excellent car and much under-rated.

ProsReliability, Power, Handling, Safety and Fuel Efficiency ConsI wish they would have made the V8 Supercharged R model

This Car Has Sold Me On Jaguars For Life — Great overall car fast, reliable, efficient and fun to drive! We bought this car from New York and drove it over one thousand miles back to Saint Louis I have never had any major problems with this or my other Jag. This is my second X-type and when I sell it this summer I will be looking at either 2008 models or an XF. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsLooks nice and very smooth ride ConsNot a cost effective car to drive.

My Jag — Smooth drive, engine purrs, really makes the commute to work a joy. Looks cool and has gorgeous leather interior. Good acceleration but can be really fuel hungry. Not too good for road tax costs either due to high emmissions as it's a petrol engine. Would upgrade for a diesel though as really like the model.

Great Car! — This car was a hand-me-down from my mother. It handles great in the snow and has a good sound when accelerating. It only takes premium gas, but gets 30+ mpg highway. Repairs have been minimal and the customer service is excellent. They've been so happy with Jag that my parents are considering the new Jaguar XF to replace it.

ProsLooks are why you own this car.... ConsThe worst suspension on the road. Shocks had to be replaced after 6 montths and it has never been right. Low profile tires and very weak mags resulted in 6 broken wheels

Fine Looks, But Don't Ever Buy It For The Performance Or Smooth Ride Because You Will Be Dissapointe — I am about to hit 170,000km and, touch wood, no major issues, except the lousy suspension design...Manual transmission helps the 2.5 liter engine get into motion...and valet parking attendants voted it their favorite car to park when I leave it at the airport. A British Cat — Great performance with a V6 that suits the car perfectly. 4 Weel Drive makes it a great car on any surface, tarmac, gravel, snow or ice. 231 BHP is enough to be first on red lights. Besides that, my car is absolutly maximum equipped. Primary Use: Family transportation

I Expected Better, But Am Overall Satisfied. — I purchased this car with the expectation of owning a sporty high end car. The car feels a bit sluggish. Maybe I should have paid a bit more for the 3.0. It doesn't really handle all that well for a small car. The temperature sensor died out right after my warranty expired, the A/C isn't powerful enough and now the check transmission light is coming on intermittently.
