2003 Honda Odyssey LX Review
ProsHandles very well for a minivan.Lots of room. Plenty of power .Have never had any issues with reliability.I am the original owner of this vehicle. ConsDome light switch is near shift lever, so when you put the car in gear or in park, your hand hits the light turning on all of the dome lights. Had a dead battery several times.

Have Never Had Any Issues. Has Never Failed Me.best Vehicle I Ever Owned. — Still drives like a new car- no rattles, nothing loose. Only replaced normal items (tires, brakes) Seats are a little on the stiff side, but still look new after 10 years. I have seen vans like this with over 200,000 miles. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsNice power, plenty of room (especially for cargo). Very reliable Consfuel mileage could be better and honda has definitely improved fuel efficiency for new models.

Great Car — I wish the fuel mileage was better (about 20 mpg), but other than that, this car has served my family well. Never a breakdown and normal maintenance. I will buy another honda odyssey for sure. Definitely number 1 in my book. Primary Use: Family transportation

2003 Honda Odyssey EX Review
ProsMy Odyssey was a very comfortable car. Even though I did not get the luxury leather and navigation system, all the seats were very pleasing. The quality inside the car was very nice and i never got that "cheap feeling". Of course, the automatic sliding doors were a nice plus. For it's model year, the Odyssey looked spectacular compared with other minivans available at that time. There was a fair maintenance and repair cost. The car felt sfe and there were not any huge blind spots. ConsI thought that the performance could have been a bit better. It took a bit to accelerate, but it wasn't a problem for me. There were compartments to the sides of the rear seats that broke within a week and wasn't very impressed about that. The trunk door was a hassle to pull down and I am a big man so it would be nice if it could automatically come down too.

A Comfortable Car For Both Adults And Kids. — As soon as I walked into my Odyssey for the first time, i was amazed at how comfortable and easy everything was. I had cloth seats, but that didn't mean they weren't uncomfortable. The controls were stress free and the controls on the steering wheel made it that much easier. Quality is great, but there were a few compartments and oddly arranged cup holders that i disliked. The cup holders that were on the side of the middle seats broke very easily when people wanted to get in and out of the car. Performance is average, but the ride was very safe due to rightly placed airbags. There was lots of room in the front and middle seats, but I would suggest that children under 13 be placed in the back seats. I thought the gas mileage could be better( we averaged at about 19 mpg), but we were rarely in the shop. It was a nice car to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Luxury, Capacity — Its an EX-L, top of its time. Luxurious: leather seats, entertainment w/20 inch TV, sound, great feel without bumps. Good capacity, great for long distance travel Cost 48k in 03. Maintenance needed occasionally. I wish I could drive it. It rocks! Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsSafest Minivan on the road (back in 2003) ConsYou would rather drive a peice of junk Domestic Car from Detriot

It's A Honda. — Excellent handling and acceleration. Decent gas mileage considering it is a van. Solid as a rock and keeps on going. Beautiful paint job and nice lines. Has been rough on tires, but once we found the right ones for the weight of the van, no issues (Goodyear Regatta 2's). This is our family vehicle and we take it when we go on vacations up to Jersey and down to Disney. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsSpacious, fits the entire family. Consthe driver side door lock hasn't worked for the last 1 year.

Mini Van — Bought it new. Had to, we needed a bigger car. Especially with the kids 16 months apart. I didn't want a minivan, but the Odssey has amazing "get out of it's own way power". It will be paid off in 11months. I plan on keeping it til the kids are grown. I have recommended it to my boss, she went out and bought one, the luxury one but still it was cool that she considered my recommendation. I have driven the CR-V and I like it but it is just not roomy like my VAN.

Great Car Overall, Comfortable And Holds A Lot Of Storage. — I love the car and the space. I love that it has so much space. Really quickly you can put the back seat up and down to accommodate for more passengers or for more room to move things. Reliable, great family ride. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsExtremely practical and roomy ConsDo not avoid

Practical — This car is what I use every day to take my kids to school, and quickly too. This car almost never has to be taken in for repairs. This car is extremely fun to drive especially on a long road trip. This car is strongly recommended. Primary Use: Family transportation

Honda Odyssey 2003 -- As Much Fun As A Minivan Can Possibly Offer — The Honda Odyssey is the sports car of minivans. The acceleration is brisk (not terribly fast but well above average), handling is reasonable (esp. with upgraded performance tires), and the brakes do a great job even in panic stops. Honda is renown for their build quality and reliability. This vehicle is very utilitarian as I use it to haul my family as well as much cargo for work. Although my Odyssey is older when compared to the newer model, I think it still looks very nice as the design is still modern. I average 15L/100km around the city and 10L/100km on highway loops. My recent jaunts on the Sea-to-Sky Highway (twisty mountainous road) has proven to me that this minivan has legs (and muscles). I think the Odyssey is about as fun as one can get in a minivan. Highly recommended for families! Primary Use: Family transportation

My Beauty Of A Van — I love this van it is soo practical with the doors opening and closing with a push of a button. How I could live without that before I do not know. This car also has traction and wow I would have ran into a houses around me when it gets icy which it does often hey it is Iowa. It is a beauty also I am not ashamed that I drive a van at all. |
