Fun Little Truck — This is a gas eater with the 4.7L but has plenty of towing for such a small truck. Has that beefier look but in a smaller profile too. Box can be hard to haul full sized sheets of construction materials though. Still wouldn't trade it off. Love the little thing.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

My Truck — Performace is really good. Build Quality- does not make a noise. Appearance- Not a speck of rust. Cost of ownership- Nor too bad only if the paymentes were lower but other wise its all good. Truck is Fun to drive.

Pros

Does everything it's told to do

Cons

With a V6, gas should be better, and doesnt accelerate as fast i would like it to. still jumps from a stop light fast, i just need to work on my shifting

Great (not So Little) Truck — Performance -- Little Sluggish, Have manual trans and i need to break down and put in a new clutch. All torque. Build Quality -- Built right, easy to maintain, havent really had a problem with it, and that's with 130,000 miles on it. Does have crappy milage on it, i was getting 12.5 mpg on it, but i just recently checked the tires and was alarmed that they were 10 pounds under pressure! I'm the 2nd owner of the beastie and so far i am very happy with it. This sucker will haul anything, and that's with a V6! 4x4 also works well.

Bigger than a lot of other people

Cons

Gas Guzzler

Lots Of Fun =) — Love this Truck, it's a lot of fun. So far the only thing I don't like is how you change the oil. It's a really dumb place to be and hard to change. Luv driving it. It was in pretty good condition for being as old as it is. It does suck gas and it has an exhaust system on it and a K & N filter on it so it gets better gas mileage. It sounds awesome when you rev it. Go MOPARS!

Pros

It is awsome and fun to drive.

Cons

When i gun the throttle my gas mileage SUCKS

Title Is Good — Performance- Accelereation is amazing, and once you kill the governor, your speed seems almost limitless. You will crap your pants before you top out. Build- The only problem with this vehicle is that the A/C leaks but its and easy fix. It is only a drain blockage. Appearance- Interior is rather nice, and the exterior, I love this model a lot more than the new model that just came out. Cost- Gas mileage can be decent as long as you dont mat it. If i go easy on it, on the high way I get 23 to 25 MPG FunFactor- I LOVE driving this truck.

Nice Pick Up — gas mileage is not the best gets about 10 miles to the gallon has a 109,000 miles and tail pipe is a little to loud for me.Great looking pick up gets a lot of attention as you drive along the highways.

Pros

Clearance

Cons

Milage & cold weather operation

Dakota Musings — The usual sloppy North American electrical work, not very good milage and poor brakes. It does get around the back country with high clearance and can haul a tonne of gear. Comfortable for long drives. Oil Filler & PC Valve System doe not work well @ -40 C in Saskatoon!

Pros

We have owned the Dakota for over 5 years and have had no problems with it. It handles great in the city and on the highway and the dog smell that came with the truck has disappeared.

Cons

As gas prices rise I would like to experience better gas mileage but for a truck I expect an 18mpg average is reasonable. Another issue is damp carpet on the passenger side. I've tried cleaning the AC drain but it is difficult to get to.

I Really Like The Truck. Bought It Used And Been Fighting A Smell In The A/c & Water Leak. — The Magnum V* runs great. It takes restraint not to stomp on it. I like that you can fit 5 into the truck comfortably. We found a vintage Aristocrat camper and the Dakota pulls it without any problem. It has been a great all around family vehicle.

Gets Me To Work, But Its Really For Fun. — Just bought this Truck. I had a Jeep years ago and I have wanted a 4x4 again and got a deal on this one. It seems like a great value except fuel cost, but I didn't buy it for fuel economy. I need to find out what are the typical repairs above 100k

Primary Use: Commuting to work
