The limited production Dream Cruiser variation returned for 2003, with a second series model. The Dream Cruiser was the most expensive PT, and it also received the new GT's more powerful engine.
Again, there were no color choices. Last year's only color, Inca Gold, has been replaced with a new finish called Tangerine Pearlcoat. Thus, this model might not be for everyone. A Dark Slate Grey finish is the only option for the interior.
The Dream Cruiser gets an array of unique touches: a rear spoiler, color-keyed wheel and interior trim, and minor interior layout changes. The Dream Cruiser receives all of the GT's special features, including traction control, 17-inch chrome wheels, and four-wheel ABS. Fog lamps, keyless entry, leather upholstery, full power accessories, anti-theft, a moon roof, and cruise control are also standard.
The Dream Cruiser is one of two 2003 PTs to house the new turbo-charged 2.4 liter inline four, which generates 215 horsepower and 245 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is included, and a four-speed automatic is optional. The turbo-equipped Dream Cruiser speeds from 0 to 60 in just 6.7 seconds, verses 10.9 seconds for the non-turbo models.
