My Buick Surprise — I never thought of myself as a Buick driver. I thought Buicks were boring. But my peppy V-6 gets me around anyone I want to pass, and I average 30 mpg! I know ugly hybrids that can't do better than that! And the ride is outstanding.

Overall Nice Car — Overall cheap to keep considering excellent fuel mileage and ongoing maintenance. Handling is great, and it has lots of trunk room. Car carries a stigma of a grandpa's car, but it is priced just right for the used car market.

Microchip on ignition key

Nice Comfortable Car, Good On Gas For A Full Size V6 Family Sedan. — Good looking car, 105k mi. Rides nice, but handling not too impressive because it's a boring family sedan. 30 mpg highway with 3.1 V6. Only problem is it's got that (expletive removed) microchip on the ignition key and it cost $1100 about 2 years ago to have the BCM and ignition module replaced, only to have it malfunction again on me a few weeks ago, but this time I was able to find a GM dealer who didn't care about the stupid law and bypassed that garbage system for me. Blue book on a 2003 with over 100k isn't high enough to warrant maintaining an elaborate but poorly engineered theft deterrent system. I installed a class 2 receiver hitch for light towing. Keeping in mind it's a front-wheel drive automatic, I don't use overdrive when towing, and I keep the speed down to 65 and keep the trailer gross wt under 1000 lbs.
