2003 Allroad--bargain Or Money Pit? — My wife fell in love with this car while I was nervous about its reliabilty. After 3 months I am slowly falling in love. The car doesn't feel like a wagon (and certainly not an SUV). Compared to the Volvo XC70 we had before and liked, the allroad is a real performer. Five years old with 55k, it feels brand new. Tight and quiet and the quattro handles in the wet like it is on rails. Haven't had a chance in the snow yet. The interior is the best I have ever had. I am still nervous about the costs of ownership. I am surprised to find it gets better gas mileage than the Volvo, but it is still pretty mediocre. I don't know yet if buying a $45k car for $17k was a bargain or a money pit. For now, at least, I am enjoying it a lot.

Pros

Drive, comfort, equipment, chunky looks. Drives like a car with the ability of a Landrover.

Cons

Fuel consumption slightly heavy for a TDi

Audi Allroad Quattro — Built like a tank, reasonably good performance. The technology in this car is incredible. Going slow on rough terrain, the suspension lifts, around town it sits on its second setting, then over 70mph it drops 35mm to sit much lower. You can also manually raise it 90mm at the touch of a button to go off road !! Leather, Satnav, Bose Stereo, power everything. You name it its got it.

I'm An American - I Love My Car... — Love it. Drives like a sports car, but works like an SUV. Gas mileage sucks... Dogs love it. Has cool perks like window shades standard. I feel safe in it. It feels more sturdy than any other car I've owner/driven. And it looks cool! I like Audis and they are making allroad in a smaller version - 4 cylinder in 2010.

Great Handling Sport Sedan. Maybe The Best All Around Vehicle Made. — I wish I could have purchased new. I really like this car. I am surprised by the handling and power of the 2.7L turbo. A shame it only had a 4 year run. A 2013 A6 Allroad would be awesome and well out of my reach but I'll wait a few years to pick one up. Update 3-14-14; I still enjoy the Allroad quite a bit. I have two now. One has a transmission issue which I will rebuild myself. Do not buy an Allroad with transmission problems, very expensive unless you can DIY. My next purchase will be an A8L 2008 or so.

It Got Potential, Yet Hard To Harvest — Don`t like it when biturbos give in nd push the oil out thru exhaustpipes though one breaks ,two must be switched, to then experience same procedur within a year `nd no moore than 3000 km down the road..expenses
