The 2002 2.9 returns with only minimal changes, including a retuned engine, new alloy wheels, a new in-trunk emergency release button, and the addition of Volvo's Emergency Brake Assistance system. Standard features include keyless entry, a power sunroof, a trip computer, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, leather upholstery, power front seats, a driver seat memory function, heated power mirrors, a garage door opener and an anti-theft system. Options include Dynamic Stability Traction Control, a navigation system and an in-dash CD changer.
The T6 is powered by a slightly smaller but significantly more powerful inline six, which supplies 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This trim also adds a manual shifter feature to the four-speed automatic transmission. The T6 includes all of the 2.9's comfort and convenience features, and adds an anti-skip system, front fog lamps and 17-inch tires.
The T6 Executive is also available as a special edition T6 Elite, which includes all the Executive's luxury features, but switches to a rear bench seat. Additional features at the Executive level include heated rear seats, a DVD entertainment system with a television tuner, a rear center console with a built in refrigerator and a power rear sunshade. The Executive offers two inches of additional rear leg room and wider rear door openings. Unfortunately, the sunroof is now an $1000+ option.
