Prosgreat looks, handling and reliability. ConsI can't really think of anything bad to put on this subject.

Great Car To Own — I love the looks, reliability and handling of this car. It is also very economical but looks and drives like a million bucks. I can't wait to buy a newer version of the same model. I would recommend it to anyone. In fact, I'm trying to pass mine on to my sibling. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pretty Good Car! — The car itself is great. It has plenty of what you want in a family car and gives you plenty of options. I personally love its cargo capacity...it's one of the main reason why I bought this car. You really have to see it for yourself and get behind the wheel! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Passat Tdi Keeps On Going — that an 02 can do 190000 miles before its firs major screwup,it still takes my toolboxs and gear and still does 135 on the autobahn,i still get over 40 mpg at over 100,and the ciggarette lighter still works, what more do you need from a contractor bus?

My Vw Passat 1.8t Gls — My inline 4 1.8L Turbo engine kicked some ass on the rode. Not the fastest at acceleration but smooth overall ride. Got it going 133 before had to slow down. Minor standard repairs such as: new all season tires, spark plugs changed, secondary air pump went bad but no biggies. Interior is fully loaded with leather seats, heated seats, heated mirrors, power everything except seat, and steering wheel, controls. Since I work as a Geek Squad Autotech at the Holland Best Buy, come check it out, I have substituted the factory head unit with my Pioneer DEH-P7800MP deck. Full-Color OEL customizable screen, CD art display, along with High Volt (5V) preouts. Each one of these preouts has Rockford Fosgate RCA's headed to the trunk where two Rockford Fosgate amps mount on the back seats. These two beefy amps consist of a Rockford Fosgate P400-4 which is a four channel amp for powering my speakers, and a Rockford Fosgate P1000-1BD for a sub. The four shannel sub only uses two channels at the moment for a pair of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 component speakers in my rear doors. Front speakers are still stock for the time being. All four doors are dynamated and the trunk and back seat are next. No subs but am looking at a 12" Orion HCCA Series sub. BOOYAH!!!!! As for exterior nothing too much just replaced factory headlights with aftermarket angel eye halo headlights that are tinted, brighter bulbs and a neon blue halo ring around them. Around 25mpg when I drive according to the rode. Maintenance not bad but like to do maintenance myself. Recently replaced secondary air pump. Fun car to drive and has been extremely reliable.

Fond Memories — The 2002 Passat was the first new car I ever purchased, so my memories of it may be a little rosier than the reality. But I recall the car as being a decent performer with good gas mileage. It had a nice ride, the seats were comfortable and it had that cool-as-hell VW dash lighting. Oh, and the stereo was fantastic.
