Great Car, Can't Beat It — Very reliable, comfortable to drive especially on long journeys. Climate control, 6disc cd player, heated seats & a big boot (LOL). Just a sexy car all round.

Nice To Drive, Horrible To Own. — This car is awesome to drive, its smooth, classy and has awesome features. However it has a lot of coolant leaks, and is just very problematic. It's not a good car to own on a tight budget all I have to say is read your consumer reports. If you like to work on cars, knows someone who works on cars, or have money. This is the car for you.

Comfortable build quality

Cons

Understeer and premium fuel.

Good Family Hauler — Car is nearly 10 years old. no rust. NO major electrical problems that some fols complain about. Hauls LOTS of stuff and is a good daily car. The car is ok to drive although a bit too much under-steer. Seats are extremely comfortable for long journeys. No other car I have ever been in comes close.. not even BWM or MB. Take premium fule although mostly city driving gets 10L/100 KM which isn't too bad.

02 Vw Passat Glx 5-spd — Overall the car was a good value, had all the toys that a luxury car would have, but had the price tag of an economy car. Performance is solid, the Germans know how to tune a vehicle. Build quality is good, and the car is fun to drive. The best thing about the car is the styling because people always think its a brand new car even though it's an 02. Overall, it is a good choice for a car.

Fun, Affordable, Safe. — Solid, heavy Wagon. Feel very safe in this Car. Good acceleration when needed. Monsoon stereo is top notch. Need to keep full synthetic oil in it and change when needed (5K). Many have posted problems with this car, maybe I have lucky, but would buy another in a heartbeat.

Brakes and acceleration are both above par. Amazing interior.

Cons

Although the majority of cars are... expensive to repair.

Good For Now But Ready For Mods :) — I bought it used... so of course there were a few things that needed to be fixed. Overall though its great, handles, brakes, and accelerates like a dream. For most people the appearance would be beyond satisfactory, but as a teenager I look at it and always think about the things I wanna do to it. The interior is awesome, leather seats (very comfortable), wood accents, good quality stock sound system. Recommend to anyone that has a passion for nice cars.

A Great Family Car — I firs test drove this car and was very impressed with the engine power and noticable torque. I have two kids and with thier seats, well it wasn't going to happen in the golf so we decided to buy this one. Very powerfull motor @100500km. Spins in rainy days and snow even with new tires. very comfortable ride with the engine being in the very front of the car you could hardly hear anynoise. I already got a ticket going 160km in a 100km zone. I will keep it for a long time. I just did timing belt and water pump, regular maintenence.. all is great, and sooo much room for everything that is KID involved.

Good Daily Driver, But You Will Need Another Car If You Want To Have Fun — Good reliable car, especially for the price, but is frankly boring to drive and one must constantly remind themselves that this car was a practical choice when being constantly passed on the freeway. Also is a Volkswagon and therefore must only be purchased by someone willing to waste an obscene amount of time on routine maintenance.

I'd Buy Another One. — The only thing I don't like about this car is that its a leaf/snow collector. Hood/Trunk openings allow detritus to collect and filter into the Eng/Trunk compartments. Acc/braking/handling are excellent, as is build quality. Love the styling/appearance. It gets 19-20 mpg around town, 25+ on the highway. Its 8-9 yrs. old, so I expect maint. costs to rise, but its been exemplary so far. This car is a gas to drive - especially w/the sunroof open and the Monsoon Stereo blasting.

German engineered and built! 2.7L V6, Tiptronic, Fully loaded (every option avail. in '02) GLX trim.

Cons

Musty odor that comes and goes (can't get out) ever since moving to the south.

Best Car Ever! — Our first VW that Mollie and I have ever owned. This thing is fast and looks good to boot! Basically, it has the same engine that went into the Audi Avant and has a tiptronic tranny. We bought it used with 32k on the clock and since then have put over 20k of our own miles in almost two years! It's Mollie's daily and then some. We are almost always in the pslut as it gets better gas mileage than my truck and is more comfortable.
