2002 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Review
ProsLooks (subtle, but clean), interior is very nice, AWD!, dependable, decent gas milage, enough performace for my needs ConsCan be sort of bland looking to some people, parts aren't as easy to find (just had the brakes replaced), wind noise

Great Car. — First let me start by saying AWD rules. It gets decent gas milage (22-28 real world MPG), is decently fun to drive, and has been very reliable. It is closing in on 100k miles and it still feels very solidly built. I am sold forever on Subarus because of this car.

Subaru Is Always Subaru — plain white, clean looks, no adoptions or extra gadgets..perfect handling and braking, superb brakes, stylish sporty interiors, low maintainance.. needs some extra money for hoods and spoilers.planning to buy solar tint glasses and lower the chasis ...but milage sucks!! Subaru: The Best Awd On The Planet! — Subaru AWD can't be beat! I've pulled more than a few people out of the ditch with this beast--including the time I had to tow my Volvo out of a field in 10" of snow! For wintertime driving this car HANDS DOWN cannot be beat--even with all season radials. I've never had snow tires on her as I've never felt the it was necessary. For performance, this wagon is okay. It's not the fastest by any means, but it has enough power to pull our two jetskis on a double trailer. Gas mileage suffers b/c of AWD, but even with 150K+ miles on her, I still get about 20mpg in a mix of city/highway driving. This was my first Subaru and I LOVE IT! We're going to hang on to this one to give to my son in a few years. Next Up: Subaru WRX (maybe even an STI... depends on daily drivabilty factor) Primary Use: Commuting to work

Not For Our Country — wonderfull car to buy but not in lebanon, you will have great dificulties to find parts or accessories, especially LEGACY 2000 till 2002 models: aviod them as much as possible. in the end its kind of perfect car to drive Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Loving My 02 Lgt — Gotta love the AWD. Love the gear ratios (Manual), and i love the torque. missing some more go in the higher RPM range but i can get used to that.. i love the interior room, especially at the back. It could use a turbo tho. the engine feels like its underpowered for the size of the car.. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Its A Good One - If U Can Afford It — performance - acceleration abit off otherwise good Build quality- needs constant repair(perharps its these african roads) has afew squeaks but nothing that cant be dealt with Appearance- gorgeous cost of ownership - This car has no cheap parts, and is insanely thirsty for gas Overall the car is a beaut. I have the stock model but Im thinking of putting in some mods - dump valves etc Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsDriveabliity ConsPerformance

02 Subaru Legacy Wagon L — The best thing about this car is the AWD. Living in New England, it is a perfect vehicle for winter driving while having great gas mileage. I also love the steering radius. It's a great zippy car to get around town, but is also nice for traveling. The maintenance overhead is minimal, although if something does need repairing, the cost can be steeper than other vehicles. The '00- '04 generation looks and drives great. They are a solid car and I would highly recommend them. |
