Overall A Good Car — i like the gas millage whens it work right but most of the time it burns oil like a mother trucker and the exhaust is going. other than that it is fun little car to drive. the tread wear in the tire sucks, but there is nothing to do about it.

Pros

It runs good, it only has 74,500 + miles, and it gets good gas mileage.

Cons

The car has 12 + years of wear and tear:

The paint job, when up close shows its age.
It is not too bad though.

The dashboard flickers on and off every once in a while.
Not that often though.

The check engine soon light is always on.
It has been stuck on for about 6 years. I’ve had 3 mechanics fail to find the problem.
No leaks, but I do check the fluids once a week and do routine service on the car.

The A/C stopped working about 8 years ago.
I like the heat so I never had it fixed.

Although The Car Has Some Issues, It Has More Positives Than Negatives. — Why you chose your car? I purchased my car because at the time my son was 10 years old. This made it a great car for me because the third door to the rear bench seat does not open unless the driver’s door is open. How you use your car? I drive around locally. I go to appointments, the beach, fishing, and pleasure cruising. How long you've had and how far you've driven your car? I purchased my car in May 2002. I paid about $12,000 for it. The car had about 4,000 miles on it. It was repossessed for nonpayment. Most of my driving was in Massachusetts. In the winter I put 4 snow tires on it. I changed them at the end of April and beginning of November. In February 2013 I moved to Alabama. The trip was approximately 1,400 miles. The car has 74,500 + miles on it right now. Also, it has never been in an accident. What you enjoy about your car? I enjoy driving the car. I fit nicely into the driver’s seat and in the drivers’ area. I think it is very comfortable. I like the third door. It does not open unless the driver’s door is open. The car has a 1.25” receiver hitch. I was able to tow my motorcycle to Alabama from Massachusetts. I have a 1.25" Hitch Cargo Basket 48" x 20" to move things that will not fit into the car. However, I only used it once because it is smaller than I need. I purchased a 60” x 24” cargo basket that is perfect for my needs. What you would change or improve about your car? This sounds weird but I would love to add a lift kit to the car. The only reason I’m selling the car is because of medical issues. I have a difficult time sliding down into the car seat and pulling myself up out of the car. I’d keep the car forever if this issue could be resolved inexpensively. Appearance, Build Quality and Performance: I love how it looks, it’s black with black interior and looks a tad sporty with the factory rear spoiler. Saturn is a quality GM car. There are no factory defects that I know of. The gas mileage is good, I get approximately 26-28 MPG city driving. I do not know what the highway mileage is but I did get really good MPG’s on the trip from Massachusetts. Its performance is okay. It’s not a speed demon, it gets you from point A to point B to point C then back to point A reliably. I really do love my car. It has treated me good over the years.

Sleeper Granny Car — quick, agile, great mpgs. slightly modified easy to build if you research. comfortable ride. smooth shifting and good clutch response. easy and cheap to repair any thing that breaks and it does not catch the wrong attention at first glance if you know what i mean...

A Different Kind Of Car — it accelerates, brakes, handles. good build quality. no repairs needed. no squeaks/rattles. nice interior and exterior styling. great gas mileage, low cost to maintain. this car is fun to drive. the 3rd door makes it easy to load and unload stuff in the back seat.

Cons

Likes oil.

Title — I bought this car on the spur of the moment when my 1998 Chevy Venture bit the dust. After some work, I have really enjoyed driving it even though it is far from a speedster. It is pretty easy to work on and has personality.

Pros

safe, lightweight, sporty, good mileage

Cons

picky on oil changes, low to ground, no power/engine upgrades to do

Saturn Sc2 Bored — My car has good mileage and I used to think that it was cute but I'm just sick of it. It's the only car I've ever owned and it's starting to burn oil a lot, as well as having a broken sunroof and having other minor issues. It's an automatic so I can never really do that much to it as far as engine upgrades and I had a system in it for a while but the wiring and electric setup in the car couldn't handle it for longer than a few years.

Pros

Reliable, good on fuel

Cons

Underpowered, parts are expensive when needed

45

Good Work Car — This is my car for going back and forth to work. It's not the most appealing car but it is excellent on fuel (gets close to 50 mpg) and the build quality is good. The engine runs great and the tranny shifts smooth but it underpowered, but thats probably why the milage is so good.

Pros

Handles great. very spacious trunk. Very good on gas. Comfortable ride on bumpy roads.

Cons

Not much room for passengers in the back seat.
Not a bad reaction speed for a 4-cyclinder but could be better.

45

My "sports Car" — Handles nice in any weather. spacious trunk. Not the best performance car but can get up and go when needed.

Pros

Great handling, breaking, low maintenance, nice features

Cons

Could use more hp and a good spoiler

Great Car, Great Performance, If Only They Had Dropped A V6! — Breaking is amazing, it could easily send someone through the windshield, lol the handling is really tight, it's got a sport tuned suspension, acceleration isn't bad at all, you really don't wanna mod it too much performance wise because it is front wheel drive but it could gain a lot from a power/torque boost. I also have installed a sunroof, all leather interior and i'm starting work on the exterior.
