2002 Saab 9-3 Trims and Specs

The SE sedan is now the entry-level model for the 9-3 lineup. The 9-3 sedan is actually a five-door hatchback, which offers a considerable amount of rear cargo room. All SEs are equipped with the 205 horsepower engine, which is available with either the five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic. The SE comes with a long list of amenities, including keyless entry, full power accessories, heated mirrors, a moon roof, a power driver's seat, OnStar, steering wheel audio controls and a trip computer. SE interiors are dressed with leather upholstered seats, wood trim, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter. A CD player also becomes standard this year.

The five-door Viggen is set apart from the SE by the addition of a more powerful turbocharged four cylinder engine. This 2.3 liter unit delivers 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Additional Viggen features include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, sport seats, a power passenger seat, and a memory fuction for the driver's seat.

The Viggen is now the only available style for the 9-3 Coupe. This well-equipped coupe is powered by the 2.3 liter turbocharged inline four, which makes 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Buyers in need of an automatic transmission will have to look to the SE. Exclusive standard features on the Viggen include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, sport seats, a power passenger seat, and a memory fuction for the driver's seat.

The primary difference between the Viggen and the SE is power. The Viggen models upgrade to a 2.3 liter turbocharged inline four, which produces 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This is no automatic transmission option with this engine.
