2002 Renault Vel Satis User Reviews

My Renault Vel Satis 3.0dci Initiale — Sadly, after I wrote this review, the car developed electrical faults, some major, some minor; all irritating, inconvenient & impossible for anyone to fix. The battery would completely discharge within 24hrs (sometimes in even less time), forcing me to carry a spare battery & jump leads in the boot. The pressure sensors kept displaying phantom messages; the satnav would crash (usually whilst being used to guide myself to an unknown destination); and the rear doors would sometimes fail to unlock, which is no fun with 2 young kids strapped in child seats. The final nail was the depreciation - car was bought for £10,000; 2.5 years & 40,000 miles later - the best trade-in (against a year-old E-class) was £2,500. Worst trade-in was £1,000....
