2002 Oldsmobile Alero GLS Review
ProsThe seats are comfortable, the heater keeps the car warm. ConsSecurity system is crap, had to have it disabled to be able to start the car. With it being an older...ish car, it has its quirks. It wasn't that good of a vehicle when I bought it off the lot, but it was a replacement for good old Explorer. Thats all that matters.

It's... Poo Poo Lol — Acceleration is good. Braking is alright, Handling is a bit tricky Build quality is pretty dinky. Susceptible for bumps, dinks and blemishes. Appearance was fine until my sister smacked someone else in the ass with it. Beautiful otherwise. Cost of ownership is fairly good on the gas mileage side. It costs about $20-25 to fill it up, depending on gas prices. Maintenance is expensive sometimes. Fun to drive? When I can get it to work, yes. Primary Use: Commuting to work

02 Olds Alero — So far a very good car, powerful V6 sounds nice in higher rpms, very comfortable leather interior, parts are fairly inexpensive, stock stereo is nice, good sound. The handleing is superb, better than most cars ive driven, a few minor glitches with the electronics but nothing major for a 7 year old car Primary Use: Commuting to work

Fantastic Ride — decent accelaration for a small four, braking is powerful 4 disk, i just love the look of it overall , well done interior, i can go 750 km on a single tank, on a highway, this handles great quiet and fun to drive. Maintenance and parts are expensive though, There is more plus than anything else

02 Olds Alero Gls — Love my car. Except a few minor electrical infidelities. Engine is nice, good smooth highway ride with only a little road rumble. Comfortable seats, good leg and trunk space. Pretty hard on gas, but thats just cause im usually thrashing every last bit of strength from the 8 year old v6. Primary Use: Commuting to work

2002 Oldsmobile Alero GL Coupe Review
ProsSolid, reliable, North-American car. GM probably had these cars close to right when they unfortunately decided to cease production. ConsBack seating is awkward with two-door coupe. Built for average build occupants; not tall or oversize.

No Luxury Here But A Good, Dependable, Economical Mode Of Transportation Made In America. — Fun, sporty little car that delivers great fuel mileage (40 mpg highway). It has been relatively dependable with most repairs being associated with normal wear and tear. It has over 150,000 km on it and I think that it is good for many, many more. Body construction is very solid but doors and window slides are on cheap side. Four banger combined with the five-speed manual is dependable but certainly no speed deamon. Steering and braking is good. Primary Use: Family transportation

Decent Car For The Money — I was stuck in a hard spot when I bought this car. My other car was totaled. This car I am beginning to like. I had a lot of problems in the beginning, but I believe I've worked all the kinks out, and it's turned out to be a decent car. Pretty peppy for a 6 cylinder. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Oldsmobile Alero — Great steering, fantastic handling, takes U-turns really well. Accelerates fasts and brakes just as quickly. Outside isn't anything special and neither is the outside, but I love to drive my car, it's my baby and totally rocks!! I don't dislike anything particular, it's just low to the ground and small, sometimes that's good, and sometimes it's bad. I still wouldn't trade my car!! |
