ProsIt is fun ConsTemptation for speeding.

Lancer Wizzard Of The O.z. — This is a fun city care, good in traffic. It has enough get up and go to have some fun, but it is no racer. It has nice rims and a keyless started added to it, both are just plus to its already cool appearence. Last but not least is the iPod jack and sweet sound system. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Economy — best for milage driving if there is need for speed in your blood , then go for the evo that has 280 hp and all wheel drive. the lancer es has front wheel drive so not much fun while drifting. better scoop it up if u can't own an evo Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsSmall and quick ConsIt isn't a MR2 lol

Larry The Lancer — Cheap, quick, enjoyable, cute, easily modified. The steering column and circle and in a perfect position. Handles pretty well, although I will lower it which will help to stick in those corners. The gears are very close together. Interior is a little boring. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosfuel econ and reliability ConsParts are hella expensive.

My Front End Is Still Going Strong After Five Years 160,000 Kilos Of Some Of The Worst Roads In Ja — Reliability, fuel economy and the fact that it is the basis for the Evo VII thru IX. Parts are real expensive, but they last a looong time. CVT has build quality issues; tranny was the only big ticket item I had to change. Aside from that, it rides well, will outperform most other compacts with the same cc rating and has ok handling Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsPower everything, attractive interior, peppy ConsThin paint, noisy AC compressor

Civic And Corolla Owners Wasted Their Money — I love getting Japanese quality for Korean prices. The Lancer gets passed up as an "off-brand" Japanese car, making used-car prices appealingly low. The thing's a blast to drive, even in automatic trim. It's peppy (for a small car) and relatively quiet. Cost of ownership is very low. Aside from regular oil /fluid changes and a timing belt swap at 120k, the car has not required any service.

My First Car — First car. It is actually a '97 model but car iq wouldn't let me choose. For a 1.5l engine it seems to go nicely. Only $3500 to buy. Very cheap to run. Good fun to drive because of manual. Overall a very nice first car. No real mods planned or intended.

ProsGreat modification car, lots of parts to change and easy! Great gas mileage!!! ConsNot recomended for track, there are better cars that go fast for the money you pay on this one.

02 Oz Mitsubishi Lancer — I have installed some Tein Springs that combine with the stock sway bar of the OZ that produces awesome handling. However its not fast at all, but i wasn't going for speed when I wanted a car. Looks ok for stock oz of course, but there are many bodykits that are available for the car. And of course lots of customization.

315k+ Miles And Going Strong — I learned a long time ago that if you take care of your oil changes, a well built car will last a long time. Very true with this awesome car. Religious with oil changes every 3-4k. At 200k switched to a synthetic blend, now after 300k full synthetic. Also keep up with normal maintenance, belt changes, water pump, Front axle shafts/CV joints. The only thing that really started to go were the CV joints, most others (timing belt, alternator, shocks, etc....) I changed because it was time. Morale of the story: take care of the car and it will take cars of you. This thing still drives beautifully after 300k, better than most "American Made" with half the miles. Still gets 35-40 MPG. Have had very little go wrong with this car. Hesitant to buy it when I did - Brand New, first model year for the Lancer - but I have been pleasantly surprised. I would get another Mitsubishi in a heartbeat. Can't ask for much more. Except a little more pep to match its quick look, but that is minor. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
