Pros

Aggressive exterior modifications

Cons

Didn't have time to get to the engine work

My Tricked Out Mercury Cougar — I had the 4 cylinder instead of the V6 but I couldn't find the V6 in a 5 speed and I didn't want an automatic. The body was very aggressive and stylish (and it should have been with all the money I dropped into it), but it didn't have much engine work done to it. I miss my baby and I wish I still had it til this day. Sold it before I went into the Marine Corps. So that is my story about my baby. I would recommend this car to anyone who would like to dress up a car and not spend a lot doing it, but if you love speed, I wouldn't recommend it not even the V6. *Full body modifications (front and back bumper, side skirts) *Full body decals (white and silver) *Smoked out windows 17" rims w/ Toyo tires (White 5 star with a chrome lip) *perfect for the look I was going for* *Body color was Electric Green *Turning signal covers were switched out from yellow lens to the clear lens and yellow blinkers were changed to green blinkers *Two 12" speakers in the trunk w/ a 600 watt amp (could've been more powerful, but it was free) *Green neon lights throughout the interior *Metal floor mats (front and back) The engine was my next project but I sold the car before I started. I wish I had pictures, it was car show material. I was just waiting for engine modifications and dropping the car a few inches.

My Cougar — I have loved this car until this recent problem has had it parked for over a year, has cost me about $1500 in parts and is still not fixed!! I haven't had to do much on this car prior to this, but now am beyond frustrated!

Pros

Looks nice and sporty and handles well. Front seats are very comfortable. Stock audio with 6 disc changer is surprisingly robust. Hatchback and folding rear seats allow a shocking amount of storage capacity.

Cons

No back seat legroom, as it is a coupe. Fuel economy is very poor for a small car (roughly 18-20 unless you're on the interstate)

Decent Summer Cruising Car. — Not gonna rock anyone's world, but the car gets the job done. The V6 is definitely nice, but it guzzles gas like my stepdad guzzles Jim Beam. Take it out for a drive on a summer day with the music up and windows down, and you'll fall in love.

Favorite Car Ever! — Car is built like a tank... has traded paint with an 18 wheeler, smashed by a cart in 60 mph winds, totalled a neon, and been t boned by a chevy. Still handles like new! LOVE LOVE LOVE this car!

Cons

Abomination — None of the general repairs are easy to work on. There are no repair manuals available at auto parts stores. The repairs are expensive which is why I try and do what I can to save some money. Changine the oil is the easiest.

Pros

this is my daily driver, very reliable

Cons

none, unless you dont like sporty looking coupes

45

Great Car Id Buy Another On, But It Will Be A Five Speed Next Time — its an auto so its not all that. doesnt need repairs hardly ever. as long as you maintain it properly. the exterior is pretty slick looking, the interior is just as nice. gas mileage is decent, 26 to 32 mpg, the car handles amazingly, so its a blast to drive, just slap on some toyo tires

Pros

Looks pretty good on the road. Nice sound.

Cons

Kind of slow.

35

My Cougar's Been Pretty Good To Me. — I guess the only reason I really don't like my car right now is because it needs some work, struts and such. And because I hit a BIG rock 4 days after I got it, so there's a big scratch in the side of it. She goes alright, but accelerates kind of slow. It's a Mercury.. what can you ask for?

Its My Third One So What Do U Think — The car will be flawless when it gets the body finished. Its the third one I own so yea I love them. The car is slick looking and doesnt sound like a rice burner. So I would deff recomend this car.

Pros

Handles very well

Cons

Horrible turning radius, A/C kills pickup

45

Great Daily Driver — Good steering, bad turning radius, but handles very well on fast turns. Good pickup without the A/C, very comfortable and smooth on the interstate. Fairly decent gas mileage. Excellent braking. Gorgeous inside and out. Potenzas help the handling, cheap tires are too loud. Very fun to drive, especially with the sunroof open.
