Pros

Gets in and out of parking spots easily. Sporty. I love the heated seats. Leather upholstery has held up nicely.

Cons

A/C quit after 62,000 miles. Plastic radiator cracked and had to have engine rebuilt. Not a comfortable road trip car.

Nice Small Suv. — This vehicle has had some problems that I thought were a little premature for the amount of miles on the car at the time. I do love my car though.

Enjoyable Depending On Your Intended Use. — Fuel consumption. What you gain with a lower rear gear ratio you lose in MPG. It's a trade off. Great in the snow. Has been very reliable. I also own a Chevy Suburban K2500 4x4 and find that I can pack quite a bit into this Jeep Liberty given its smaller appearance.

Good Vehicle — Great utility vehicle small but good towing and function overall, poor gas mileage but all in all a very good pick. I like the fact that this vehicle can tow 5000 pounds and still has a wheel base short enough to do a U-Turn on a two lane road.

the strength and ability it had to stand any kind of abuse

Cons

terrible brakes, unstable handling when pushed a bit too hard, and bad fuel economy

Great Fun And Ruggedness From Jeep — it is an excellent SUV, but if you are looking for one, make sure it has rear disc brakes and ABS, also buying one without four wheel drive is the stupidest mistake ever, if you are not looking for a four wheel drive SUV, look elsewhere, the liberty was designed primarily for off-roading.

My Jeep Thoughts — Thee 2002 jeep liberty is a interesting vehicle. The vehicle 3.7l power tech does a good job at moving the vehicle around but with not a great fuel economy. Its a very fun car to drive very quite on the inside with a good sound system

Jeepy — Everything about this SUV is great. It is very maneuverable and short enough to park in tight spaces. Never had a problem with it that I didn't cause. I have it lifted 2.5" and I would definitely recommend lifting it, it looks way better and handles better. The only thing they could have done different is that they could have put a 4.0 or a V8 in it because the 3.7 is a little small for the Liberty's weight. I would say if they had matched the engine with the weight the Lib would get far better mileage. This is a great SUV that can handle just about anything you through at it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone used, but you have to get a mechanic to look at it beforehand.

Good On Space, Bad On Your Wallet. — This car has Very good Performance, it has Good Build Quality, its Not the best on Appearance, its Good on Maintenance but horrible on gas mileage, and the fun factor is kinds low the car is not super fun to drive but it is fun to drive in 4x4.

very fun, good looks, nice interior, comfortable ride, surprisingly well at off-roading

Cons

Gas mileage

I Would Buy It Again — performance-3.7l v6 provides enough power but this vehicle could have better acceleration appearance-love the interior, stylish, black and silver with tan leather. exterior I like has nice curves build quality- could be better, but it is still a very solid vehicle.. i did need to replace my drive shaft but my car is over 200 thousand miles cost-14mpg =( its terrible for the size of the vehicle, but then again i love driving it and it is a 2002 fun factor- off the road this vehicle is a great ride, i love offroading in it

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Cons

No sunroof or CD player and the rear seats don't lie  flat.

I Love My Jeep. If It Had Rear Seats That Lie Flat, A Sunroof, Cd Player It Would Be Perfect. — My Jeep has better acceleration that my husbands Dodge Caravan. It handles well. It hasn't needed repairs and I hve it serviced about every 4-6 months, 3 months are not needed for my jeep. My Jeep is RED and I have had it for almost 10 years and I can't imagine trading it in. I love my Jeep! I would like better gas milage, it gets 10-20 mpg. It is a fun vehicle!

Off road capability, high quality interior, good power between 0-70mph, very fast between 0-30, towing ability, very fun to drive.

Cons

Gas guzzler, eats 1 quart of oil every 1-2000 miles

25

Good Go Everywhere Now Matter What Come Hell Or High Water Car. — By far the star of this car is it power in the low end. Coming off the line to 60mph is faster then the base BMW X5 from 2004. Impressive for a car that cost significantly less. Also worth a mention is its off-road ability, you will never encounter a situation on any road that this Jeep won't handle. Off-road it has it limits but I've kept up with stock wranglers on a frequent basis. That dent in this shiny car is its gas milage. If you drive aggressively you get 12-13mpg in the city, 20-25 on the highway. If you drive nice you get 25-30 on the highway and 18 in the city.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)
