A Great Car And A Good Investment! — I like the style, the power and its good resale value! I dislike the high end maintenance, but you get your money’s worth and it pays off in the long run! The headliner needs to be replaced more quickly than other cars (8-10 years) and the panel on the driver’s door may get a bit loose with time, other than that the car is a keeper – we are upgrading to a 2012 Primary Use: Family transportation

Classy — it's very comfortable in long trips, respectful amount of torque and horsepower for hard overtaking situations specially while carrying some load. maintenance costs a fortune and spare parts are very hard to find. it's very enjoyable on snowy roads thanks to a marvelous X drive system. Over-all Very Happy With This Car — We get excellent gas millage, better then the new cars today. I love the back up sensors, the safety features are great if you have children. All the windows, including the sun roof have a safety feature, if you stick anything in the window while rolling it up it will automatically go back down. It is the easiest stick shift to drive--very smooth shifting. Primary Use: Family transportation | ||

ProsThis are under appreciated cars, mostly because they are discounted by Jaguar purists for its Ford Mondeo roots. However, this is a great AWD car in both handling and comfort and its Jaguar designed engine 3.0L gives it plenty of power. A bit noisier than a big Jaguar sedan, but quieter than its contemporaries. ConsWould expect better fuel economy.

Fantastic Small Sedan With Classic Jaguar Looks — I bought this car when I moved into the hills and needed an AWD car for snow. It proved to be not only an excellent car in snow, but also once I got used to the AWD, a great handling car. Had great fun with it, but sold it when it was no longer being used by the family. ProsShe's classy but also fierce =) ConsThe coolant system. Plastic pieces =( I have replaced the entire coolant system. To be fair it is an older model so it's to be expected over time.

Good Car. Fun And Somewhat Practical — Its a good car. Its safe and feels sturdy. There is a bit of a throttle lag although it does not have a turbo. There is a bit of maintainence, but it is a fun car to drive and I love people watching as I drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

2002 Jaguar X-type 2.5 Liter — Performance: Car could use some more horsepower, it'll get up and move but the power zone is more towards the middle of the gear; you won't get any real pick up until after 3K rpms. Braking is good and handling is alright. Build quality: It acts as though the seal around the door is broke. It keeps water out but sounds loud and acts like the wind is whistling through it. Appearance: All around it's ok, it's not gorgeous and it isn't ugly. Cost of ownership: PAINFUL, the gas mileage is lacking....seriously lacking, then there is the fact that anytime you have to have the car looked at it's going to be over $100. Fun factor: It's fun...if you're looking to rub it in to a friend that you have more money than they do, but if you want to beat them in a race, get something with more power cause this car is a old man's car. |
