Its A Ladys Car. — Great little car for 1st motor, very fuel economic she runs very smooth and is cheap to tax. I love her to bits as shes nippy round corners and also very comrotable to be in not only as a driver but as a pasenger, although back pasengers unles they are kids or small adults inst as comfy. Short journeys required when carying ppl in back. exelent boot space too. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Prosexcellent handling, cheap tax and insurance, amazingly economical! Consnot too much space for a family, lack of extras (cd, air con etc) on basic models.

Nippy And Reliable — Excellent for new drivers as the costs are low but the car is reliable and starts everytime. It's a nippy little thing with a small engine and I can't believe how far it goes on a tank of petrol. I'd recommend this for anyone for their first car or a second car as it's well worth it's price. |

Prosiconic design, economical, you can completely knacker the clutch and still drive it (is this a good thing???) ConsGo tinny after a few years

Great Until They Go Tinny — This was my first car, as it is for many women, and I loved it. Very economical (I had the 1298 cc). I managed to break the engine at 90mph on the M40- one of the pistons was melted by a faulty fuel injector resulting in me needing to have the engine rebuilt. The good news is this is an extremely rare fault on a car. When my mechanic bought a new fuel injector from bristol street motors they said it was the first one for a Ka they had ever sold. However something will go wrong after a few years - Focus's they aint. It did very well though considering I learnt to drive in this then used it for district nursing for two and a half years - for those of you who don't know this is very punishing for a car. It is still going - is now someone else's first car for the third time. The seats are very good for your back - this came straight from a back care specialist who assessed my car. Stereo system was very good, as was the handling. The Collection models hold value quite well too. Brakes can be spongy but you get used to it. Also - they are EXCELLENT to drive in impacted snow - I have driven past many an abandoned 4x4, focus and escort in this kind of weather. I think it's because they have a low centre of gravity. All in all, good for a first car but I don't understand people who drive them beyond this stage of their driving careers. |

Prosif you want a cheap fun car BUY ONE ConsNOTHING

Fun And Nice — Had my SPORTKA standard for a while then got bored of lack of power so I fitted a high rise cam and it made hell of a differance, its mega fun to drive especially since i lowered it it acts like its on rails, only problem i have had is that it chews up tyres no end on the front and the rear drum brakes lock up sometimes under hard driving, other than that all is fine. fuel economy is low at around 9 mpg but it is tuned and has a large exhaust fitted, only thing i have "HAD" to buy for her is tyres and a thermostat as my heating was stuck on full heat all the time. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsCheap and reliable Consslow and noisy

It's Been A Great Car, Although The Engine Is A Bit Oldschool — It's slower then anything else i've driven, but it's reliable. I've had it 5 years and it's never broken down, all i've had to do is put petrol in it. It's cheap to run and isn't built to badly, although it does suffer from a lot of road noise. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Proshandling, size Conssmall engine

Good First Car — great town car, could have benefitted from a slightly large engine or the 1.25 zetec. Handles like a go-kart however will understeer in the wet (unless you get bigger wheels and put more rubber on the ground) Check out the 300bhp KA in youtube.com Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Good Car - Cheap - Reliable - Fun. — It's fast round corners. It's slow on straights. It like to be driven flat out. honest. no really. Ideal for my crap journey to work every day in rush hour. Needs more power though...or less weight. Who knows. That is all. Dan Primary Use: Commuting to work |
