2002 Ford Explorer Xlt — Truck runs great, tranny was replaced before i bought it truck has 152,000 miles on the engine but no signs of giving up, But the truck sounds funny sometimes like an engine electrically sound but it clears up after the truck warms up, until you get on the highway you hear it also. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Prosgreat 4 wheel drive in winter Conssucks that car is used and obviously never taken care of. now i have all the break downs.

Comfortable Riding Car As Long As It Maintain — I brought the car with a blown speaker. Had a new speaker and system put in, now my inside light goes off and on (had to disconnect roof lights). door ajared on even though doors are closed. Door locks goes off and on automatically. No heat in the winter (heater core don't leak and no fogging). advise received to replace the heater coil (cost 750.00 to 1,000.00 or trying flushing cost 80.00 to 120.00) with no guarentees on flushing. Primary Use: Commuting to work

2 Explorers Down... Will There Be More In My Future? — Great car. This is my second explorer. My first was a 1995 EB Explorer. I decided to get this 2002 because I was in need of cargo space and reliability. This car has been a joy to drive over the last 8 years. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Awesome Car, My Family Has Had 4 Explorers And We Loved Every Single One Of Them — Performance:handling- it handled like a car with AWD. tight cornering, little body roll. Build Quality: I put about 15k miles on the car when i had it and it never needed anything but a new tail light. Cost of Ownership: the only thing i had trouble paying for was the gas...i think it just needed a tune up Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Looks — well I like everything about my ford explorer, it has a fast pick, it rides nice, take the bumps softly, I really like that, but I am worry about what could happen to it, after all the news aand complains I have read aobut it. I hope it last for a long while. Is a 2002 ford explorer with around 125 thousands mile. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I Would Recommend This As Car As A Workhorse, Go Up A Few Price Points For Luxury. — Has been a good vehicle for this price range. No major repairs, just maintenance. Performance: needs a V8, good braking, good suspension, good gas mileage. It is utilitarian to drive. If you want a better ride and more luxury, go up a couple of price points and go for the lexus SUV. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) |
