I Loved It — Cummins turbo diesel... enough said and that it would embarass most cars, will pull more than u will ever need and when ur pissed at someone on the road u just blow smoke all over them and theres nothing u can do about it

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros

everything about it

Cons

on the 24 valves you have to change the fuel filter every 10,000 miles or the pump will go bad.

Great — This 2002 Dodge Diesel has 293,000 miles on it without any major problems! It was used as a company truck to pull empty trailers around America. Recently i have added stickers and plates to the truck (not in the picture). But the durability of this truck is amazing. It has tons of power!!! I have a 140 hp chip in my dodge, and i believe i got this truck for a hell of a price at just $7,500! This is currently used as a school truck and is getting around 15mpg around town! The truck is very fun to drive and i recomend it to anyone looking for a great truck.

2002 2500 — Rides like a tank, good fuel mileage with the diesel, the dash shatered, the cup hoder broke, cheep plastic did not last, never noticed trailer weight, VP44 pump is so pricey to replace that you may have to get a loan.

Cons

This Is My Truck And I Will Drive It If You Dont Like It Oh Well — very fast truck no speed limiter. good brakes when hauling trailers. rides like a tank though. this truck has needed repairs to drivetrain but it was drivers fault everything broke lol. this truck will get 26mpg on the highway and with the cheaper cost of diesel it almost pays to drive it. this is a very fun truck to drive turns alot of heads.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Power, Heavy, Its a Truck That Rides Like a Truck, Suspension

Cons

Tie-Rods, Front Upper & Lower Ball Joints, Steering

105

Needs A Lot Of Preventative Maintenance. — Although Dodge changed the 2002 Ram 1500 body style, the 2500 and the 3500 remained the older body style. The lines are clean and smooth. The truck has great stock suspension and the 2500 sits at a stock clearance of 6'10". Its nice and heavy, great in the snow or mud. At 70,000 miles, my truck has had almost the entire front end replaced. It seems as though Dodge tie-rods and upper and lower ball joints are not as durable as the rest of the front components. The steering also continually pulls to the left after several alignments and brake work...nothing seems to correct this. However, my cousin has a 2002 Ram 3500 which seems to do the same thing. I would recommend this truck to friends IF they have had some past experience with trucks and do not mind doing maintenance on thier own. It has had a few problems, but when it runs, it runs well. If you cant Dodge it, Ram it.

Pros

The engine and transmission are perfect.

Cons

The interior is junk.

25

Great Drivetrain. Junk Interior. — Plenty of power and towing ability. The truck falls apart around the Cummins and the rest of the driveline. Dodge needs to redesign the entire truck part and leave the drivelive alone. Its fun to drive with the 5 speed and has the power to outrun most of the lil rice rockets and piss em off. Overall its a great truck just mainly the interior is junk.

Pros

great power, long lasting cummins power plant

Cons

not too good on the gas mileage when hauling a 36,000lb camper

35

Amazing Torque — bully dog tuner, propane injection, 50 lbs of boost, 5" flowmaster exhaust from the turbo back w/ a 6" exhaust tip, air suspension in the back

Pros

It runs pretty good for a big truck and people don't suspect it.

Cons

nothing

25

It's Fun To Drive — My dodge is my daily drivier and its quaility is pretty good. The performance of my dodge is probably around 450 hp. The fuel mileage is great it gets around 23 miles to the gallon. My dodge is fun to drive especially when people tailgate ya because to can make them disappear in a cloud of black smoke.

Pros

The Cummins 6 cylinder with an after market exhaust makes it sound like semi.

Cons

Lower ball joints, tie rod ends, u-joints, carrier bearing and front axle shaft u-joints need grease fittings.

The Perfect Diesel Pickup — The 8 ft. bed is good for transporting all sorts of things. The extended cab is perfect place for throwing stuff in the back, car pooling etc.. If you like driving a standard, this is the perfect start. You can start in 2nd gear and not stall it.
