I Love My Rolla! — Performance: It's a simple little car and she runs well. You can't do anything crazy with her, but I enjoy driving her. Amazing turning radius. Build Quality: The only work I've ever had to do on her is typical maintenance (she's at 113K right now). Appearance: Nothing amazing, but still cute. Get one with a spoiler! Cost of ownership: She gets 25-31 mpg and low maintenance costs, nearly $0 in repairs. I think this is a great car for anybody that wants something simple and dependable.

My Corolla — The car is reliable and gets me from point a to point b. I like that I can get over 40 mpg. With gas prices today that's the only feature that matters.

Doesn't use much gas

Cons

Looks cheap, rattles, takes forever to get up to speed, not really that reliable.

Worst Car I Have Owned — Well, It is a Toyota Corolla - not much to look at, not much fun to drive and not really all that reliable. Needed a new engine with only 82,000 miles on it. The interior bits and pieces rattle, there are no ABS brakes, and the ride is not all that comfortable. On the other hand the resale value stays fairly high, and it does not use very much gas. Yet I can't wait to get rid of it and get something a lot more fun to drive.

Reliable — It's got over 120k miles on it and have hardly had to fix a thing. Still gets 32 mpg. Handling much improved with new tires.

Best Work Car I Have Ever Owned — The car has been very reliable, I have had no problems. I am getting between 32 and 36 mils to the gallon depending on the route I am taking. The back seats fold down giving me about 8 feet of storage. I have treated the little car as a truck, a snow plow, and a personel mover for 6 years. Nothing has been better.

Overall:

Pros

Comfort, looks, fuel economy, reliability (as long as its well-maintained), maintenance cost

Cons

Needs more power, requires great attention to detail on maintenance, 3spd auto is a no-go (5spd manual or 4spd auto w/OD would be better), floaty handling on stock form, acts like a mini-Camry

Nice Commuter, But Don't Treat It Bad.... — Like any Corolla, it's a great economy car with the reliability to back up its name and the economy and comfort expected from a star of its class. Performance suffers when mated to the 3spd automatic-if you want one get a 5spd manual or else IMO. Adding lowering springs is a welcome improvement to handling. Overall, it's a great car for commuting, has nice looks, it's reliable, but could have been more than just that....

Primary Use: Commuting to work
