Pros

Well-balanced performer all the way to the note of the motor.

Cons

Not quite the 'drag racer' but it has outrun quite a few of them in the past.

Beyond Driven Performance 2001 Toyota Corolla S — After having driven this car for 200,000 miles all across the country, I really can't find anything to dislike. With modifications that were added through the years such as slotted rotors, racing suspension, light weight pulleys, performance clutch, and many more, this '01 Corolla S is actually a better car today than it was when it came from the factory. 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, and 144MPH top speed - pretty impressive for a naturally aspirated 1.8L 4-Cyl sedan pushing 250HP and still getting almost 30 miles to the gallon, if you actually follow the flow of traffic.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

... — My Corolla is pretty quick, it accelerates fairly good and handles great. Its built well and feels solid no matter how im driving it. The car looks pretty good, its low to the ground and its not too flashy. Its very good on gas and definitely easy on the pocket.

Toyotas Are Known For Overbuilding Cars. This One Is No Exception. Great All-around Car. — Economical, dependable, reliable. Probably the best car I've ever owned. Not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination, but has more than adequate power. Averages 33mpg city, 37mpg highway. Not as much fun as my Volvo 740 Turbo, but a nice balance of all categories.

I Have No Reason Not To Drive It (annuel Income <$80,000) — It was the best car within the same price range. both performace, build quality and apperance were average (but good enough for me). it was cheap to run, low maintenance. I have to mention that it has a big boot (relevently). Is it fun to drive? I was looking for comfortability and it has done fine for me.

Best In Its Class No Contest! — I love the reliability, quality, safety, and economy of my car. It's stood up perfectly after 140,000 miles, with proper servicing and maintenance of course. It's been easy to mod and fun to drive. The exterior I think is the best of all the generations till the current one, but the interior leaves something to be desired. Corollas are some of the best cars on the road, no contest. Go to your local dealer and buy one today!

Car For Worth — It is good for carring weight, sturdy and could handle some ruff treatment. The toyota wagon have a considerable amount of space for home/business it is a real asset. I would recommend this vehicle to everyone that cannot afford a pickup but still need to transport anything and still have your vehicle personal use

Its A Toyota — Its an overall great car have no problems with it, bought it in april with 250000kms on it already, it now has 283000 and never spent a cent on the engine. It also have almost no rust at all on it. It has pretty good pick up for a 1.8L 4 door sedan. Braking system works good, only thing i payed to do to it so far was putting a donut gasket on the exhaust. The interior is in pretty good shape, and the exterior is also in great shape just alot of chips in the paint on the hood, fenders and bumpers from highway driving. The cost to own it is little to none, basically all i pay for is gas and oil for oil changes. It gets great gas mileage around 40mpg and i enjoy driving it and it is pretty fun to drive for a family car
