Good Family Car — This is a good car for just driving around town. Reliable, cheap, but still fun to drive. Bought it used and have had problems with oil leaks and suspension but nothing major. Be careful when opening the door though because this car has trouble with the door handles breaking.

Black '01 Camry Le — Overall I think this a dependable vehicle but have have encountered problems with my check engine light (catalyst converter replacement) and the light stays on. Other than that I think this a excellent car for road miles.

A Commodity Car Thats Not Built Like A Commodity Car — Bought this car from a salesman with a 130,000 miles on it, it now has almost 190,000. The car impresses me very much with its build quality. No creaks or rattles, transmission is still solid, and no major breakdowns, ride quality is great, only standard maintenance. All in all, a pretty amazing car.

A Good Design, But Terrible Execution — The 2001 Toyota Camry is below average at best. Acceleration with the four-cylinder and automatic transmission is pathetic, taking two minutes to go from 0-60. The brakes will be tight for three days, they will loosen for two weeks, and then come back tight. The Camry is a nonstop money pit. We have replaced the lower control arms, the driver's door fuse, oxygen sensor, catalytic converter, oil pump, fuel pump, battery, and tires. A plethora of platic pieces have also broken off of the interior. It only has 94,000 miles. The interior of the car is ugly but functional- at least what is still there. The outside of the car looks dorky in the back, the profile is blah, and the fron is okay, but the six-point hub caps look like flowers and are incredibly hideous. With only gas and maintenance, the Camry has cost $.23 a mile to run. My Taurus, again with only gas and maintenance, costed $.08. The car is not fun to drive; I find it a chore. The seats are too low to the floor and there is not enough headroom. The bottoms of the seats are flat, the seatbacks are shaped like spoons, and the back seat has zero leg room. The Camry is extremely lou on the freeway, much more so than my last V6 Taurus.

Pros

Very reliable car, good MPG.

Cons

Not a fun car to drive, very noisy interior, not a good appearance and very difficult to make it look good.

Toyota Camry Daily Commuter — The interior is a little bit too simple for my taste and the seats too soft but they were comfortable. The performance is the worst part about this car. Its handling in the rear of the car has almost no grip, driving it in an open road at about 50 mph in every turn i made you could hear the tires squeal and the back felt loose and jumpy, it felt like i was driving at 160mph. The brakes were not that great but they worked ok. This car appearance is not good, it looks like an old man's car. It is not a stylish car the finish is simple. the cost to drive the car is very good since it is very reliable it does not cost you an eye on the face. It has very low maintenance issues witch is a good thing.

I'd Buy Another One In A Heartbeat — The Camry V-6 (this is my second Camry V-6) is a rocket. I'm not sure what Toyota did between the 1992 V-6 & 2001 V-6 but there is a noticeable difference during interstate driving and even in-town driving. Acceleration is pretty quick for a sedan

Cons

If You Want A Car That Doesn't Break .. It's The One — was the right car for when I bought it since I didn't want a new car .. didn't need much of repair and had a good acceleration and really smooth when changing lane and passing cars ;-) .. had all I needed when i bought it JPL sound system with a CD

Cons

Fernando The Toyota Camry — Acceleration for a 2001 model is awesome it feels like it actually has some power for a 4 cyl. unfortunately the look of the car looks like every other import - but it does look nice - Gallery Edition so it has the two toned paint job and trim... nice lookin ride!

Doesn't Try To Be Something It Isn't And Does A Great Job At Doing What It Was Built For. — The Camry is a great family car. We got this one used, with about 53,000 miles on it. It now has just over 140,000 miles. We have the 4 cylinder model, and this is my main complaint with the car. From a standing start you would be hard pressed to pass an antique VW Minibus, but on the highway it will claw its way from 55 to 80 in nothing flat. That little 4 banger makes really good power once it has some RPM behind it. It has been VERY reliable and has only recently started showing some signs of age. I had to replace a door handle and a window regulator, and we had to have a fuel pressure valve replaced by the guys at Toyota Techs.
