ProsGreat speed and handling ConsCan be a pain when it comes to mechanical work

Fast, Fun And Cool To Drive!!! — This car is amazing for acceleration, it provides power and control and you can out preform most cars off the line that you see on the streets now a days. Cost for the Car is realitvely cheap, however mechanical work can be expesive as the Sunfire brand is a more complicated car. Yet in the long run she is a blast to drive and even more fun when beating those mustangs down city streets. As for the Interior and Exterior the car is built sounds and strong. It's low frame and slik design make it a very sporty looking car while at the same time providing confort and safty to whom ever is in the car. All in all the car's frame is easy to do add-ons and body kit instalations as the smooth lines and look allow give it the apperance of a nice custom import if you really want them too.

2001 Sunfire Gtx — Bought this car after my Aura disappeared from the driveway. The Quad-4 engine was excellent and suspension pretty good for a top end factory Cavalier. The modem I had was the 4-door GTX with the limited slip trac control and Monsoon stereo. Unfortunately GM's are not designed to last over 250k, especially their econo boxes. The valves on the block fried in 2007 eventually sending the camshaft to its demise. I ended up getting a rebuilt block put in and my sister in law still drives the car today.

Best Car Ever — this was the best commuting car I've ever had. great in all weather(as long as snow wasn't higher than car) I was getting 375 miles per tank(28 mpg) looks sexy, had great pickup. the front had plenty of room. i was commuting 23 miles each way, five days a week for about $40 in fuel Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

ProsReliable, good on gas, great college car, best for someone not looking to spend alot of money. ConsToo much plastic on body, too many of them on road allready.

Good Car For A Good Price. I Know Several People Who Have, And Had One At Some Point. — I bought this car Oct. 20th 2009 after taking my previous car off the road. It got me through my 2nd year of college without hassle. Haven't had to put much money into it. It has the small 4cyl engine and it doesn't have much power to it, but it handles good. It has a nice llok to it (the front lights make it easily recognizable) Interior and basic functions are simple and not confusing. Good on gas, fun to drive, reliable and allways has got me where I wanted to go. I'd have to say tho, the over build of it is satisfactory. Like most cars into the 2000's they are mostly made of plastic. My front and back bumper, basically the whole front. I like older cars because back then they were made to last. Newer cars today are made to drive, trade, and move on. I enjoy my Sunfire and all but it seems weak. People knock Sunfires alot for being cheap cars; I think really it all depends on how you take care of it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsBecause I have one! ConsPretty much everything.

Kinda Reliable, Except When It Breaks Down. Yay. — Acceleration? A little. Does it brake and turn? Yes. Does it squeak or rattle? A bit, but I've taken care of some things. Did have to replace the radiator after I jumped certain railroad tracks one too many times. I like the way it looks, with or without my special speed dent. Gas mileage? 24, regardless of whether I drive it hard or not. Oil change? Whenever I feel guilty. So, if you wanna know if it's fun to drive, I'll tell you it is the way I drive it! Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsCheep, Light, Low gas millage, Sleek look, Reliable, Cheep to fix and repair, Sunroof, Good Stock Sound. ConsSmall Back Seat, Stock AC blows out easy in hot climates, Expected road life of 150,000 Miles due to transmission, Door locks can have a jamming issue.

Great For Its Price, But You Get What You Pay For. — Over all its a good cheep car, living up to Pontiac's nick name of the poor man's Cadillac, It has many of the stock issues seen in any Pontiac of its era, with Faulty door locks that give over time and where, as well as problems with its AC breaking, However, most of its issues are relatively cheep fixes, making it for a great first car. Over all I would recommend it to any one looking to feel like there riding high in something that costs low. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Amazing — I liked the look of it. and the feel of the clutch was nice. Hoping to get a 2 stage racing clutch and maybe a turbo kit. Altogether its a fun car to drive and is really not slow at all like people say. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

8 Out Of 10 Trying To Be Sporty But Low On Power — Good car small 2.2L engine got great gas miles about 350 a tank costing about 25 to fill that tank, still sporty in being a 2 door, best part was putting a loud exhaust on it it was louder than a truck lol, wasnt to much get up and go but perfect for a economical sports car.
