Can't Beat This Sedan! — I really can't complain to much about this car, especially comparing it to my 1993 Cadillac Eldorado. It may to have the power of that v-8 North Star but the maintenace cost are way less and it doesn't have the domino effect when it comes to breaking down that the Eldorado had. I wouldnt take the Bonneville to the strip but it has enough power and manuverability to get the job done out in the streets. The ergonomics inside are fantastic, especially when I can change the radio station from my steering wheel. When I roll down the street you know it's me with that exterior styling that is site for sore eyes!

ProsAcceleration, Braking, Handling, Appearance, Fun ConsHeated seats - The seats bend too much and the heating coils break after about 5-10yrs of use.

2001 Pontiac Bonneville — I've driven the car for 23,000 miles in the last year (120-143K) and I've only had to put a bearing on it. Acceleration is really close to that of my Trans Am. Gas mileage is around 22 city, 27 highway up to Fargo, and 31 highway down by St.Cloud/St.Paul.

ProsThis car is awesome in that it gets really great gas mileage. ConsThe rattling and occasional squeaky brakes.

All Around Good Car — Despite one month where everything seemed to go wrong for this car, it's been very reliable. It gets from point A to B and only needs gas maybe once a week, depending on the demands. Usually it can average 300 miles before having to fill the tank. Acceleration is perfect for a car like this, especially when the need to 'gun it' really isn't necessary. Braking and handling are good too. It rattles some around 55-60 mph, but it's not too bad. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Luxury With Attitude! — Before we were married my wife worked at a car dealership. She saw this 2001 Bonneville come in on a trade and knew that I would want it. I did. The other sales peeps were not happy. I was. I had it a long New Years weekend to check out and test drive. It had everything I wanted; looks, amenities like heated seats, power everything, traction control, sun/moon roof, auto lights and OnStar. With 35k miles in 2 1/2 years the 3800 V6 engine ran smooth and had plenty of power. I had to have her. Car and wife. A very comfortable ride and has served me well for many of purpose and fun times. The car's definately a head turner. So's the wife. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Love It. — Good acceleration for being such a heavy car. Car rides well and haven't had a problem with it yet. Gas milage is decent and overall is a blast to drive. I'm the third owner and the car has 110000 miles and is still running well. Primary Use: Commuting to work

01 Bonneville — Majority of parts are low quality, and all gm intake maifold gaskets on all new vehicles leak after so long. The tranny needs tune ups every once in a while i think too or just put high perforformance stuff in it. It looks great when i wash it. Ha ha I'm a detailer.

ProsGood looks, comfortable interior, sunroof, gas milage, factory superchagred V6, handles great! ConsAll the electrical stuff which I heard costs a fortune to fix and the big ol' Traction Control button placement.

About My Pontiac Bonneville "bonne" Sle — Performance: Great! It really goes when you hammer down the gas pedal and it sounds AWESOME! Thank god for factory supercharged V6 engines! It handles great and it grips the road quite well! Build Quality: It is great! No problems with it so far! The leather seats are very comfortable and the dash board is cool looking! Except, what I don't like is the big ol' Traction Control button right between the cup holders and the automatic shifter. They could have put it somewhere else. Appearance: Looks aggressive and classy at the same time on the outside. Love the front and rear bumper with that wing on the back, along with the dual exhaust! :D The interior is great! Very comfortable to drive and it has 6 way power seats with a sunroof! Cost of Ownership: It cost me less than $30 to fill it up! I filled it up last week and I still don't have to fill it up yet! It gets great gas millage! It can go about 450 miles on a full tank! Fun Factor: Fun to drive! It handles very smooth for a FWD! I would recommend this car to a friend! |
