ProsGreat 1st starter car , great gas mileage ConsIts the basic package, no cd player, no electric windows, and does not have great acceleration up hills. Horrible in the winter on east coast!!!!

For Someone Who Is Starting Out To Drive But Not A Great Winter Car On East Coast Of America — The 01 Plymouth Neon does not have very good acceleration when going uphills , the braking is okay but the breaks tend to wear out easily it is suggest to upgrade to a high performance break package. The handling is not to bad does pretty well. I owned this car for 3 years and i didnt have to many repairs to do the basics breaks, spark plugs and wires etc. I maintained great maintenance on it and received around 28 mpg. However like any other neon this car finally died at 142,000 miles. It commuted me from the mid west - to the east coast numerous times. It was a pleasure to own. Primary Use: Family transportation

Prosgas mileage, tune-up frequency is low, comfortable seats Consnickel and dimes us to death after it gets past a certain mileage.

My 2001 Plymouth Neon — Performance: the car runs great, just after a while it starts to nickel and dime you to death. And there is a defect in the 2001 models: the back tire has a little metal piece in it that fell off and the mechanic said it was the reverse break catch or something (?) Build quality: It's built good, but the trunk leaks water into the back seat floorboard when it rains if you don't fasten the spare tire just right. Appearance: It's a beautiful car. I just don't care for silver that much. It looks beautiful in metallic blue. Cost of ownership: it gets great gas mileage as long as you keep it tuned up. We get about 28 mpg. And as long as you get an oil change every 4000 miles or so it stays good. Fun Factor: it's comfortable to sit in and drive long distances, but it takes a while to go from 0 to 60 (not what i look for in a car, but some people want a fast car) I would recommend this to someone who wants a reliable car to take them places on the highway.

ProsIt gets awesome gas mileage, it's comfortable, and handles great. Being front-wheel drive, it handles pretty well in the snow and ice. ConsThe back seat is a little small.

ProsNice, reliable, roomy, good mpg., and all the controls are user friendly and easy to access. ConsDoesn't have the same kick as a V6, wish it was a manual.

I've Had It Since Aug '07 And It's Been Getting Me Around. — It's been a very reliable car. I've had to replace basic stuff like the battery, and it's due for some new brakes; but no major repairs. I love this car and even though it's not my dream car I still enjoy it. The performance is pretty good, it's only got 4 clnd. but it has some kick(albeit small). Where it really shines though is around corners, the suspention is great. |
