2001 Nissan X-Trail Review Ratings
2001 Nissan X-Trail Review
Fun to drive, great acoustics for audio purposes, good performance. Its a nice experience.
A Lovely Car Just Not That Practical To Own. Be Prepared To Spend. — This car has been in my possesion for a month now. My review so far is: Performance - It certainly accelerates better than my corolla. Both of my cars are manual so you can understand my joy at finding that this vehicle has almost no stalling between changing gears. Its braking however, is average, my corolla when new was more efficient but perhaps this is because its a faster car. Along curvy roads its handling makes me a bit nervous especially at high speed, but I'll only conclude this in two weeks when I travel to and from Mufulira (a total distance of 800km to and from). Build Quality - Note that this is a second hand car. As soon as it arrived it needed repairs. We had to replace bearings and carry out the normal servicing. Since then there haven't been any problems. Appearance - It an attractive car, silver well metallic gray is probably more accurate. Once I've posted the pics you can make up your mind. The interior is something I like as well. None of the leather or wood finishes that more expensive cars have. Its elegant, roomy and with a neatness that pleases. I'm still getting used to the display being in the middle rather than right in front of the driver. What's with that? Oh and no lighter and ashtray. Discouraging smokers? Cost of ownership - From an economic point of view, the car seems to favour the long distance traveller rather than the utility in town guy. Difficult to estimate the gas mileage, but it is more expensive than my toyota. In a week I spend about $25 in my Toyota and $40 in my Nissan. in maintenance terms the Nissan is still more expensive than the Toyota. CFAO the distributors of Nissan in Zambia charge about K 2,800,000 ($549) for a routine service, while Toyota Zambia charge up to K 2,000,000 ($392). Fun Factor - Fun!!!

Solid, low mintenace costs
Nissan X-trail 2001 — Simply one of the best things to have come out of Nissan's factory. My parents bought it in 2003 and I used to go around with quite often. I loved every bit of it. The maintenance costs were not very high even if the car when new is quite expensive to buy.
2001 Nissan X-Trail Review
Great utility vehicle on all terrains and comfortabe. It comes with alot of drink coolers and holders something German cars do not have alot off.
The car is a tin can. Some of the panels feels thinner in metal gauge than other parts of the vehicle. The doors are reinforced. The front quarter panels are made of some kind of sturdy plastic and the back hood seems very light and easily dents.
Nice Family Suv — In Japan it was rated as the no 1 SUV. The sports package model comes with 18" brushed chrome rims, spoiler, leather interior and additional accessories in the cabin. Great for the family. Automatic transmission and power steering is no rugged SUV. This luxury model is very quiet on the road. The ride is very comfortable and the handling feels like a wagon rather than a four wheeler. It is not as aggressive as other four wheelers. The suspension is not as stiff and engaging four wheel is as simple as a flip of a button.
