Pros

Excellent car for comfort and dependability. Low maintenance cost. Excellent gas mileage. Repair costs minimal.

Cons

Oxygen sensors don't work well with the ethanol in gas today and illuminates the service engine light occassionally. This is a known (non) issue with Nissan's and has never caused any issues, just a nusiance to look at for 10 yrs.

Dependable First Or Second Car At An Excellent Value - Can't Go Wrong — I have always loved the Nissan Maxima as it is the most dependable car on the market for it's value. This was my second Maxima and I owned both cars for over ten years each. These cars are well built and will run forever as long as routine maintenance is kept up. This car has only been in the shop one time in the 11 years I owned it for a minor repair (spark plug coil). The ride is smooth and quiet and the engine runs like a top.

Cons

Best — Best car eva. The build quality is very high. Performance wise it is almost like a sports car. The appearance might be a little aged, but the car still looks as good as new! The gas mileage is very good for an older car. This car is very fun to drive!

Pros

Good acceleration, especially at freeway speeds. Fun car to drive on a daily basis

Cons

Requires premium grade fuel. With the price of gas it's hurting the wallet

2001 Maxima = Fun — Good acceleration, brakes well, good handling. Doesn't squeak or rattle. So far only problem was starter died and plastic on top portion of radiator cracked so both were replaced. Interior and exterior styling is top notch. Gas mileage is decent but it requires premium grade fuel so right now that it hurting the wallet. Overall I love my car

Pros

performance, reliability, looks, comfort

Cons

110K hump, not as much ground clearence as a big SUV

Great Car In Basically Every Aspect — Wonderful car, reliable as anything, just hit the 110K mark and it needs a couple things, namely a new cat and ABS sensor, but it's to be expected with any can at 110K miles. It's incredible FUN and PEPPY, and sounds incredible when opened up. The engine is bulletproof, and has never had any issues at all. It's also very comfortable, and offers tons of space, leather, traction control, side air bags, heated seats, and everything you could want in a 2001 car! Safe, reliable, fun, and it looks incredible!

Solid Investment, Will Easily Get Your Kid Through College. — The maxima is a true performance sedan, great handling and acceleration. Quality is top notch inside and out. I have owned this car since new and replaced the alternator, battery, radiator, brakes and rotors. Still gets 30 mpg and will run another 120K miles.

Pros

one of the few cars you ould get with a manual transmission and is great on the highway.

Cons

corrosion issues and the constant check engine light

If It Doesn't Cost Too Much, It's Still Worth Driving. — The engine, transmission and body of this car was built very well. The emissions system and are horrible. The check engine light will just have to burn out. The c-pillars/rear doors have WAY too much wind noise. The drivers seat is comfortable for a really long trip (9+ hrs).

Pros

Speed

Cons

Starter

Descent — The acceleration of the car is great. The in terior design is sleek spacious and comforitable. The amount of times this car has had a broken starter is more than twice. But its a good car to drive. If you Like speed.

Pros

140K miles and keeps on ticking.  Low maintenance

Cons

The turning radius and wipers suck

Fantastic Commuter Car. Not Bad On Gas And Not Ugly Either. Low Tco — The interior is nice, and the engine has pretty darn good pickup. plenty of room for my family of five when our SUV broke down. I have spent $$ only on tires, brakes, alternator, and a battey & tune up since I bought this car with 45K miles on it. Highly recommended.

Like My Maxima Alot — i like my car, very sporty yet for the family as well, i bought mine used for 2,300 from a friend of mine with 130,000 miles on it. the check engine light is on but it is suppose to be due to an o2 sensor being replaced and the computer not being cleared, not sure but it is not giving me any problems at all. drive it everyday, my previous car which i still have is a 93 honda accord...hate to say but my honda rides just as smooth as the newer maxima...wow..but overall the car is fun to drive, love the interior layout, acceleration is awesome, seems to get good gas mileage!
