ProsThis vehicle will go anywhere you want to put it. ConsThe MPG is not the greatest and there is allot of maintenance and up keep.

Great Vehicle — This is a AWD vehicle and is a very very heavy SUV so the gas mileage runs from about 11 to 17 MPG. It's loaded with all options and is a great looking body style for a Land Rover. This Limited Edition comes with a performance package added to it. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsGreat offroader ConsDrinks a lot

Reliable Driver — Bought this car (used) in 2004. In spite of all the reviews and forum, the mechanical reliability has been a definite asset. No problem whatsoever except for a new water pump. You can go most anywhere, the transmission system is great, and applies the power as it needs it off road. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsThe ability to go anywhere, in comfort. ConsAn irritating, but small, leak from one of the sunroofs - which we can't seem to find.

The Best 4x4xfar — This is a great, fun car. We can go anywhere, carry a ton of crap around with us, and do 30mpg. All this, and we've got leather seats, individual climate control air conditioning, and 12 speaker multi CD suround stereo. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsThe sheer shock factor of a tuned V8 in a Land Rover - it's a real Q-car ConsFuel economy (or lack thereof)

I Love It! — 4.0 V8 with custom mapped ECU. 12mpg on premium unleaded, so 26mpg equivalent on LPG :-) Acceleration is surprising in "sports mode", and the Active Cornering Enhancement means cornering is great too. Styled like a concrete block, but that's part of the appeal, at least for me. Full electric leather interior dual climate control + separate rear aircon. Has needed 2 front springs, ACE tie-bars, and suspension air compressor replacing, but I service it myself (25+ years experience, plus factory-level diagnostic equipment) Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Prosamazing off roading Consvery expensive parts

Land Rover Discovery 2 Se7 — not a slow car and has great handling. it has alot of things that fall off due to bad construction and off roading. the interior is amazingly nice and has every option and very comforatble. the exterior is great and can take a beating. the gas milage is only 13mpg not very good and maintenance is very expenisve. the fun factor is amazing and is a blast to drive. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Prostop reason to drive this car,,,, fun and safe to drive, plus it is a very good looking car. Constop reason to avoid this car...... if you are sporty and want to carry stuf on the roof it is really high and difficult.

Bottom Line, All Around Good, Safe Fun Vehicle!! — Great solid SUV with lots of control. Feels safer than other SUV since it is so heavy and well built. Do not like how high the roof is. Since I am a surfer, it is a great issue because it is really hard to get surfboards up ontop of the racks. That is my only complaint really. Tough and good looking, for me it has been a great car with kids and the jump seats in the back. Very fun t drive!!

Brad's Rover — They tell me you love 'em or hate 'em. Not sure yet. It was the right price to buy, handles like a dream for a big car, luxurious and comfortable to drive and goes great. Love the V8. Loves the fuel though and they have a reputation for poor reliability (time will tell). So far so good though.

Needs new seals on transfer case, but otherwise runs great! Model- SE7 w/ wood trim and sun roofs my favorite feature- second Gear Box

ProsIt's got a leather interior and a non-working sunroof. ConsEverything about it!

The Worst! — This LR sucks. Low quality, cheap British engine can't stand 20mi. before dying out again. Performs like a goat. Transmisson is slow and crappy. In 2003, needed Engine Bracket/ Alternator belt. 2005, needed new Transmisson. 2006, Engine Timing belt snapped. Costed $540 for one with 25,029 miles on it! 23 miles later, it breaks AGAIN. Man working at dealer said he put it on wrong. Another 50 dollars wasted for something HE did wrong. DON'T BUY ONE! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |
