Proscomfortable ride for a truck Consnot a whole lot of room for many passengers
45
Its Great If You Dont Need To Lug Many People Around, And Can Tow Little Things Like Jet Skis Easily — performance wise, well hey, it is a truck, not a sports car, build quality is pretty decient, ive owned and family has owned quite a few fords, its definetly on the better side of there vehicles. Appearance, I love it, Ive allways liked rangers, Ive wanted one since I started looking for my first car, interior is comfortable for me atleast, plenty of room, unless I need to fit more then two people, you gotta be pretty small to fit in the back cause it only has two little pilot seats. Its a little bit costly to maintain, but it is a 4wd and I knew that getting into it, ive had just a few minor issues with u-joints and hubs but nothing major. Ive driven many trucks and pickups, its definetly easier to drive then a full size truck, and imo it kills the old chevy s-10, its much more comfortable to drive and the ride doesnt even compare, the s-10 can be alot rougher. Overall I couldnt be happier with the truck I dont think, I love it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsAwesome looking truck ConsTowing capacity, lack of lift kits for a decent price
35
Good For The Part Time Off-roader Or Someone Looking For A Functional Multipurpose Truck On A Budget — Great truck all around. Decent power, very stylish out side. The 4.0l V6 hasn't given me any problems at all. I love the edge interior with the vinyl floors and seats. Very easy to clean up. However my only true gripes about the truck would have to be the gas mileage and how big the bed is with it being a stepside and the fact that the Edge, 4x4, 4.0l ranger (2001) is extremely hard to find performance parts and lift kits for! Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsHasn't let me down in the 5 years I've had it. ConsGas mileage when its 4 bucks a gallon
35
Ford Ranger — I love my ranger. Performance wise its not bad for a 4.0L. It definately doesn't have a problem pulling out in the passing lane. The only repairs I've had to do is basic maintenance. Gas mileage is ehhh....but I guess its not bad for a 4,200 lb truck. This truck had never let me down.

Prosrelatively good gas millage for this type of truck (manual trans.) Conspoor air conditioning- leaks like every other similar ford that I have owned. Signal lights turn off before turn is complete.

If Driven Carefully Gets 20 Mpg With 4.0l Engine With 4x4 — Relatively good in snow with 4WD. original tires lasted 6 years, 42K miles no rust yet. relatively good gas millage (~20 MPG Ave.) poor air conditioning poor turn signals. backup lights stopped working (if they ever did work.) Pulls a 3,000 lb boat ok pulls loaded utility trailer ok Owner for 6 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:7,000

Prosreliable, comfortable, efficient for a truck Consnothing to point out. it's not a brand new, bells and whistles kind of truck payment

Ford Macho Ranger — We've loved this truck from day one. Plenty of room for storage on short or long trips, to work and back, etc. Comfortable driving with cruise and efficient with a 5 speed. No pesky and expensive window motors either! I like it a lot. It does have a little bit of a blind spot with the B pillar being so big but isn't an issue. Sold July '12 Primary Use: Commuting to work

Great Looking And Dependable 4wd Ranger! — This is a beautiful truck with 4wd power, power windows and locks, and a dependable engine. The camper shell adds both looks and style, as well as practical use for carrying cargo from the store, or golf clubs!!! No mechanical problems and well maintained. ProsReliability ConsAs strong as a 4-Banger ( 3.0 V6 )
25
Meh ... Its Suitable . — My weakest of my 3 owned vehicles . With that said , its also the heaviest. I feel that the 3 liter has to think about speeding up . Its better on Gas than the S10 and Cavalier were, but really doesn't matter when gas is over 3.95 a gallon. The sound system is better than facotry but still blows compared to my 2 previous Chevy's . Someday before this truck is history , I would hope to improve the sound system and put a trailer hitch on it .. Overall , I love my vehicle .. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosworks good for light work Conshad clutch issues when i first got it but it wasnt nothing unexpected
25
Its A Good Running Truck — Had to put a clutch in it but it was because of the first owners driving habits. And I also had to replace the leaf spring hangers on both sides in the rear. Great on Gas I can get 24 to 25 on the highway. in the city it pulls about 20. Its different to drive than my Favorite S-10 Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) |
