ProsIts a GTI, love it ConsUses too much petrol

Good To Start — Good engine, very reliable car but weak handling and suspensions. The brakes are ok but it uses to much petrol ! I love the heating recaro heating seats and the night blue colour. Hope to get the last version one time Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsGreat handling and acceleration, good mileage ConsPoor cupholder placement. Seriously that's all I've got for negatives.

2000 Volkswagen Gti Glx — Handles great, especially in bad weather, though not as nimble as previous GTIs due to additional weight. Mileage is decent even when driven enthusiasically(20mpg city average for mine). Design is clean, functional and understated. Only gripe on the interior is the placement of pullout cupholders above the radio. Still use the stock Monsoon system in mine and it still sounds great. Overall a blast to drive. |

Prosgood on gas, small, comfortable, quick. Cons91 fuel, to low for winter (stock)

My 2000 Jolf Gti — I bought the car knowing it was pretty quick and upgrades can be easily done to it. Luxury was also important to me, so the heated seats and leather package was the selling point. it Currently has 175,000 KM's with no issues. With it's quiet, comfortable ride and small form factor. makes it great for driving around the city. With the rear seats folded down, it's great for camping trips or carrying tons of gear! I love the car.. i would only trade it for another GTI. |

ProsSound, looks, and power and heated everything in a fast little package. ConsEngine gets hot very quickly and takes a toll on performance and durability.

Great Car — Just bought to replace my neon and i have only driven it 20 miles or so due to repairs needed when i purchsed it and i already love it more than my old car. parts are easily accesable at local junk yards and rather inexpensive Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Prosgreat car. quick and comfortable. everything you could possibly want and more out of a car for that price Consnothing that i can think of. it was great.

Amazing — it was great. quick and great handling. comfortable, and deffinitely good to take a date out in. probably not a good car for an inexperienced driver though. the amount of power it had for how little it weighs was a crazy combination. I race cars at autocross and track events, and i still lost control. Of course that could be more me then the car since im an overconfident 17 year old. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Proscar handles great and is fast ConsBad on Gas!!! have to put 91 octane or better

Awesome! — Once you drive a VW with the VR6 you will fall in love, the car has a sound like no other and drives like a sports car around corners, the GTI is the best one to test drive to get the full feeling. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Great Fun For The Modified Scene Goer — standard form they look good, lower it, bang on some 18" alloys and change exhaust and you cant go wrong. looks good no matter what colour you ge, build quality is awesome and engine choice is spot on. german engineering excellence Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Vw Gti Review — Over all its not too bad. The 2.0 engine can be a bit lack luster but with the manual transmission it makes it fun enough to cat around in. You must avoid the automatic at all costs. The interior is rather nice and solidly built, however seats can be squeaky sometimes and you will get rattles every once in a while. The transmission is not the best I have ever shifted, for instance going into 1st from a dead stop from neutral can be pain. Usually I have to hit 2nd and then go into 1st to get it to engage. The steering feel isn't horrible but its not great either. My car suspension is very modified, lowered, firmer bushings, 17 wheels, track rubber, sway bars, adjustable shocks. The car stil has a vauge feeling on center and still under steers like plow. Its better than it was stock but its still no track car. Over all I give it a 6.5 out of 10 Primary Use: Commuting to work |
