Good Running, Well Maintained — My daughter loved this vehicle, she took my Rav4 for better gas mileage. So I had a professional weld on a new cover on the rear axle to fix the leak that these vehicle normally suffer from. It has some rust but what NY vehicle doesn't? heat is great, new radiator (because I read the original eventually has issues with transmission fluid).

Pros

This is a good all around vehicle.  Never been stuck.  Never had trouble parking it.  Never broken down on me.

Cons

gas mileage

Im Glad I Bought It. — I love the room. I love the stereo. I love the quality. I don't like the horrible gas mileage, or the road noise the tires make. The v6 is strong enough of an engine for the size of the vehicle and actually pulls pretty good in a pinch at low end. It is a toyota so you know the quality and resale value are there.

Pros

Super reliable and tough. Unscheduled maintenance has been infrequent and involved replacing components for normal wear and tear: O2 sensor x2, starter, battery, etc.

Cons

Lower gas mileage that's unavoidable with this style of vehicle.

A Superior Vehicle! — I am so impressed by the overall quality and performance of this car! I recently moved from Maine to California, pulling a trailer behind this 4Runner. The many long winters driving on salt treated roads has really taken its toll on my car: the corrosion is like a widespread cancer. My point: I see so many older 4Runners on the road and looking beautiful in Cali. If I had been driving this same 4Runner here for the past 14 years, I would be anticipating another or more years of use instead of searching for a replacement vehicle now. I'm going to replace it with a newer RAV4.

Branded Title Due To Fender Bender. — I like the sporty look of this car and its four wheel drive, I don't care for its compact feeling, I like a car with more room around me. and even though Toyota is known for vehicles going well over 300,000 miles the mileage on this vehicle is getting up there.

Top Notch — One of the best offroad vehicles you can buy. The 4runner never stops amazing me of it's capabilities. Comfort is amazing , with moderate fuel economy. Cargo room is not an issue when it comes to the 4runner. Will never get rid of this rig.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

4runners provide a tremendous value.  Good performance and milage combined with very low maintenance costs make this a great SUV for the money.

Cons

Lighter weight, not full time AWD.

Great Truck For The Money — These particular 4runners are still in high demand for starter SUVs or that 4WD enthusiast wanting a little more room than a Jeep. The electronic Differential control works well for occasional off roading or boat ramps. The seating wears well and can be easily maintained or replaced at a very low cost if required. Maintenance on toyota trucks is legendarily affordable and many owners are getting in excess of 400K miles out of the truck with routine maintenance. These factors combine to provide a great all around SUV, and for the money, it's a steal.

Great Looking Suv. — This SUV has been a great addition to our family. It looks sharp, it's durable, roomy, and safe, and is in really good condition. It drives great and has all working features, automatic sun roof, power locks on doors, heater in front and back, a/c, tow package.

Fantastic Drive — Fantastic truck, great ride, smooth driving, we travel across country in this car and it has done well. Very low maintenance car, as long as you do regular maintenance it will last forever. Very comfortable, fun to drive, seated high up in car, plenty of storage space in back. Toyota is the best car on the market.

Pros

Toyota quality, rear roll down window, off road performance in stock form

Cons

Jiggly ride, mileage, kind of cramped back seat, expanse

This Is My Second (and Counting). If You Want An Enclosed 4x4, This Is The One! — I love the Toyota quality. I love that the seats fit me just perfectly. The much maligned seating position actually works for me. The best thing is the roll-down rear window. No other vehicle comes as close to open air cruising except the Del Sol. Open the sunroof and the back window, and you get 90% of the cooling of windows with 20% of the noise!
