Great Economy Car — Great gas mileage. Reliable and runs very high mileage with little to no problems. Cheap to buy and insure, Great first car. Fun to drive if it is a manual. It takes of quick but has trouble at high end acceleration if you have more than 2 or 3 people in car.

Pros

Good Milage, Durability, Fun to drive, Easy to maintain, Comfortable enough, Adjustable driver's seat.

Cons

Passenger seat (& driver's seat in other SLs) is getting kinda low for us middle aged folks.

2000 Sl-2 — 100+ ft lb torque and 125 horses with a 2500 lb.car is more than enough power, matched with a 5 speed I can get 43 mpg hwy. Haven't taken any long trips yet so hope to up the mileage. It's a nice little car, not fancy, but, hey if I wanted fancy I would have bought something else. Just wish GM would have kept their fingers out of Saturn, maybe cars like these would still be available. (less expensive, good performing, reliable & durable) Bought mine in '07 at 64,000 miles & know 200,000 is doable, shooting for 250,000+. If I had the cash, I'd get another one for when this one finally wears out!

Very Good Car Everyone Should Have One On The Track — good on the track. needs a littel more speed. only running 5500 rpm's on the straight a way. great quailty car, doors are hard to destroy. lots of saturns on the track. good moters and easy to get parts for.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Wife loves this car and would not trade it for anything.

Cons

Parts and cost.

It Is Car That Nice And A Pain At The Same Time. — This is a good everyday driver and has a lot of room for everything. Has plenty of power and then some. It is better then a minivan or SUV. This car has been a pain in my ass because of it being a Saturn parts had to ordered from GM and even when you give them the specs they screw up the orders. Parts are hard to come by with this being a v-6. They did not make many with the v-6 which made the insurance the same as the Mustang.

Low gas milage at the time, started every cold winter, ok interior

Cons

Everything else....

As Usual, Ok Interior...terrible Reliablility Typical Gm! — This is not a car built for long distance driving but more for city driving. Even for that, the car was full of problems after two years of ownership. Once the warranty ran out it got worst. My maintenance and repair costs went off the roof to the point that I almost just left the car in the garage to buy a new one (which I did anyways a few weeks afer that. The only 3 good things I can say about this car was that it always started in the cold Quebec winters , gas milage was decent and the interior was ok. Although you sat very low to drive.

Safe And Nice To Drive, Worth It. — I loved my Saturn. It was a wagon, yea, granny car... but it got me around. Nearly 40/gal, Smooth ride. Super performance for a 1.9 4c. I wish i still had that car sometimes. I only ever had one problem with it. Too bad, so a good car. Had power everything, comfy, economic.

After almost ten years, I'm really hard pressed to find a replacement for this one.

Cons

Can't think of any.

Very Good Car For The Price. — Nice Engine, good rust protection. Good gas consumption. Lacks fit and finish. Slap bigger rubber and it's a lot of fun to drive. Price was good for the acceleration, gas consumption, and the rust protection. Even has an oil life monitor. I even joined the local autocross club and did well with this car.

My 2000 Saturn Sc2 — handling is excellent, brakes on a dime. little rust at acceleration on the lower end, but very nice on top end. i havnt had any problems with this car, change the oil every 3000 and check all the other fluids, and she still runs like a champ! she is pretty clean inside and out aside from a few of the normal rock chips on the exterior. shes get 36 city and 40 hwy mpg, definatly helps with the bank account! overall satty is a very fun car to own and drive, only 2 things could make her better and that would be a manual tranny and a sunroof.

MPG, safety, cost of ownership

Cons

Interior could be a little more upscale

Pretty Decent For A 4-banger — Gets decent gas mileage, been reliable, parts are fairly low cost for the most part, pretty decent acceleration for a 4-cylinder car, steering is pretty responsive, when it needed repairs they were pretty easy to perform myself, the car looks pretty decent, the only thing I really dislike is some of the interior components are kinda cheap, but not too cheap to keep me away from buying another one. And the car is definitely safe.

I Love My Car. — Good, reliable car, no mechanical expenses except maintenance for 9 years. A few age related problems in the past year. It is still cheaper than car payments. I would buy this car again and am saddened that they have announced the end.
